Regarding the Secret Service. There are only two scenarios I would believe. They, or key members of them were in on it, or, They purposely didn't give a damn about security because they hoped somebody would defeat their poor security policies, and take Trump out. In other words, intentional incompetence. In no reality do I see Secret Service trying to do their best, and doing this badly, from the Head on down, they failed utterly to provide even the kind of security of the average B Band rock concert. I'm not an expert, and this kid would not have had a chance in hell of defeating the security I would have set up for this event. He passed a dozen points where he should have been not just seen, but questioned, and banned. And the failure of the SS to have the larger security perimeter this event required, is nothing short of IMPOSSIBLE. Nobody is THAT stupid. Find the person who set up this perimeter, and you have at least one of the conspirators. At the very least, they should be FIRED. But in a just world, they would be investigated, their motives found out, and spend the rest of their life waiting for their execution.

What happens in the federal government is when you get an employee that can't do the job they can't be let go either because of all the union protections. The only way to get them out of your department is to promote them and move them on and they become someone else's problem. Another great part of this episode; was the bread discussion. I'm 77 and lived in Germany; the bread made there was totally different than in the US, had a spectacular flavor but no shelf life.
