These are basically 98,5% certainly his own posts. And back in 2011, no one could have predicted the biggest nutcase in the state would be running for Governor in NC. Furthermore, these posts are perfectly in line with how Robinson behaves in public. Behind the scenes, GOP operatives have also urged him to end his campaign (because it will damage others on the ticket), which means they probably believe/know the posts are real too.

The reporters here actually gained access to the website's message archives and found Mark Robinson's account history. Faking a bunch a posts (and there are many more than just the ones tame enough to discuss on cable news) and then planting them inside a website's archive (where time and date stamps would also have to be manipulated) would not be easy at all. Plus all the other accounts he interacted with in the messages (and their individual account histories) would have to be faked as well. Way too much effort to smear someone that is already behind in most polls by double digits.
