Feel how you want about the owner but his resorts and hotels are top notch. Iv been to one in Florida. Its all those little details that really set them apart. Iv been to some "Luxury" hotels that have a nice lobby but the room is more like a motel 6, which isnt bad, just not special. Yes, the staff were very professional in the one I stayed at also. Like I said, I dont do politics but if your looking for the best hotels, you might not get much better.

Thanks so much for watching and your comment :-)! Yeah, that hotel is really, really good. I think that's in part because it's still quite new, but I have to say they show a lot of commitment to keep the standard.

I worked in this hotel when it was being remodeled for hotel. Trump had some of the best interior design people there in the world. once a month Trump would come by and inspect the hotel sometimes staying all day. He walked around with his security team and talked to everyone know matter who you were from a painter to tile guy. He bought the entire contractors food every time. McDonald's.... but hey we all appreciate it. He was a super nice guy to everyone

Thank you so much for the detailed tour of the Beautiful room at the Trump Hotel. I love all the extra special items that are included and now I want to stay at that Hotel. Can you give prices of things? That would be helpful too.
@travelmentaryTV5 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching! Often it’s difficult for me to give prices in a video for several reasons: First of all, I’m not a travel agency with access to every detail and I can’t give a specific quote. Additionally, prices depend on various factors and change all the time, so it does not make much sense for me to say a price as it can differ depending on when and where someone books etc.. As a result that would lead to misunderstandings and wrong expectations. The best way to find out prices is to look them up yourself, online or in a travel agency. Then you can get a price that is applicable to you. With that being said I include examples of prices in most of my videos now. I do that to give an overall impression of cost. Once again thanks for watching and have a wonderful stay in this hotel!

It seems odd that a video of a hotel room lasts longer than a train journey video. Are there any particular reasons for this ? The hotel really loves the Trump logo don't they. It's a bit in your face. The bathroom looked very good though and the shower was big enough for plenty of activities. Hehehe 8 )
@travelmentaryTV6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, main aspect is that this video was much easier to make for several reasons, let me outline some of them: 1) I didn't need to make any animations here 2) I don't have to find cities and structures that I pass 3) there's only a short voiceover here, because most things that I said, I already said when recording the video 4) I didn't have to compose any music and 5) most importantly, when doing a hotel room tour I don't have to "tell" a story, it is pretty linear. In spite of having hours of video footage from the train, it is much more difficult to kind of "glue" a film together that can be watched without falling asleep :-). That way, the shorter train video took many hours of work and I was incredibly happy when I was finally done with it to be honest, while this video here was ready the same day. Additionally, the attention span of people is very short. KZbin analytics shows me clearly that shorter videos have a stronger viewer retention than longer videos. So as I said before it is always difficult to find a balance between all these considerations, but the shorter Acela video is actually pretty successful right now, which indicates to me that the length of it was probably ideal. Agree about the shower :D. Would be very glad about a like, thank you!

How can it be a "luxury hotel" when the background noise at the beginning of your video sounds like it's an airport or railway station? Beautiful building for sure but that bed? WTF? Looks like it came straight from Dubai - lol
@travelmentaryTV4 жыл бұрын
As I said, it’s a matter of taste. I found the room very beautiful. The noise in the atrium was amplified by poor microphone settings on my behalf and the fact there was a big party going on down there. The architecture of the building adds to it - that's the case at many hotels that have a huge atrium. In the room it was absolutely quiet and the bed is a dream, so comfortable. I would love to come back, but there are indeed some other nice hotels in D.C. as well, for instance the Four Seasons, where rooms have a different design. I wish you an amazing day!

Only a fan of Trump would voluntarily review a Trump hotel. Was that really missing from your video collection?!

Hi, it is important to understand this is a travel channel and not a political battle zone. I make videos of my trips for the fun of it - hotels, trains, planes, you name it. If I find something interesting, I film it and make a little report about it in my free time. In this case I found the hotel super good and I decided to share my experience with an international audience. Next time I might as well make a video of the Four Seasons. Or I could create a video about the Trump hotel in Scotland, would be interesting to see what that is like, especially compared to the one in Washington! My next hotel review will be about a marvelous place in Northern Spain. I'm not a political activist, but a guy enjoying to travel and I'm having a ton of fun doing so. Thanks for watching and I wish you an amazing day!

@@travelmentaryTV Of course, your creation, your choice. However you have made just one video about a hotel, and that is Trump hotel in DC. Even if you had no political intent whatsoever and everything was coincidental, you should realise that this looks like a political allusion at least, and a downright Trump endorsement at most. You cannot possibly remain politically indifferent whenever you touch anything to do with Trump, because the "Trump" brand is now completely and utterly synonymous with politics (of a certain type, specifically). And it's precisely because you present this as "politically neutral" that it doesn't fit to have a politically affected subject in your content by reviewing anything to do with Trump. You might not see any political connection in there whatsoever, from your point of view, but if you are at least moderately smart, which I think you are, you must realise how this can come across as such to a viewer's point of view. No political polemic intended on my part, I was just disappointed that you've failed to keep your otherwise great content politically neutral, as you appear to claim it to be, even if you either don't recognise the political allusion here, or simply don't care about it. I've watched 3 or 4 of your videos, which I've found rather excellent, but I've had to unsubscribe as soon as I've seen this video, for the explained reasons. Wishing you an amazing day too, since you're a fan of meaningless greeting cliches :)

Hi, welcome back and thanks for your answer. I do respect your opinion, yet I strongly disagree with it. Moreover I reject the slightly disrespectful tone that is shining through some of your words. As I'm not interested in that sort of argument, I will ignore this in my further elaborations. There are several flaws in your argumentation: 1) In your first statement you were jumping to conclusions, accusing me of being a proponent of US president Trump. The reality is, you can't make that statement based on anything I share on my channel. Why? Because my channel focuses on travel and nothing else. My political views are not topic of this channel, they are kept private and frankly, they are none of your business. I don't care about yours either. It is you who is politicizing this video. 2) In the end, your main point is that making a video of a hotel room can already be a political statement, if it is located in a Trump hotel. I don't find this sort of reasoning convincing and I am going to explain why. I showed a hotel that I like and I told the audience what I enjoyed about it. Period. No talk about politics at all. I can't do more than that I'm afraid, because what you are indirectly asking me for is called censorship. This is why you should question your own intentions and ask yourself whether they are based on the principles of democracy. Even if my videos weren't as politically neutral as they are, I would still have every right to articulate an opinion. Even if I ran around with a MAGA hat and an "America First" shirt chanting "USA, USA, USA" ;), I would still be well within the law of any democratic country. 3) I have indeed made videos about other hotels, too: The Westin in Singapore as well as an airport hotel in Dusseldorf, Germany. Other hotels have appeared as part of my trip reports, too. For this reason your initial statement that I have made just one video about a hotel is false. And there are many more videos to come, from all angles of the world. 4) My channel is open to anybody enjoying travel, no matter where you come from, who you are, what your political beliefs are, etc.. However, it is clear that there will always be people who don't like my channel for one reason or another. Then it is absolutely a great idea to unsubscribe and to look for channels that meet your expectations better than I do. There are so many content creators out there that I'm sure you will find something to your liking. Among my personal favorites that I can recommend are: Wingin' it Paul Lucas (kzbin.info/door/zuKzSNb8hGV9DsqIBUb79w) Simply Aviation (kzbin.info) Dennis Bunnik (kzbin.info/door/Qrk97MBH6DToctKRfQJcNQ) NonstopDan (kzbin.info) and Josh Cahill (kzbin.info) Regardless of our disagreement, I wish you all the best, happy and safe travels - I mean it. @@travelmentaryTV Thanks for your thoughtful reply, I'll address your points and do my best to be respectful and to the point. I haven't categorically accused you of supporting Trump, (or anything else) but I've made a speculation based on this video, even if the video is, at face value, apolitical. As I've argued, whether you are a Trump supporter or not, by virtue of choosing to make a video (something which, as you informed, you make for fun, under no obligation, on things that you personally find interesting) on a brand that unequivocally has a strong political association, you come across at least as enthusiastic about the Trump brand, even if you try to be oblivious and unconcerned with the political side. You obviously disagree with this, and, if I have correctly understood, you consider that deliberately avoiding the Trump brand, as subject for your videos, on political grounds, would constitute censorship. I'm afraid this reasoning doesn't hold water at all, and I'll explain why. The act of making and publishing a KZbin video constitutes an inherent and unavoidable level of "self-censorship" in itself. You cannot be but highly selective in terms of what or where you choose to do or to reject, to say or to omit, to go or to avoid going. Moreover, you have no duty to cover the Trump brand (for the purpose of fairness and balance to other brands); indeed you're free to select and discard almost anything. So it is precisely this freedom that you have, that raises questions on why you chose to cover the Trump hotel in spite of the strong political association (of which you are perfectly aware) and yet it has not inhibited you in that direction. While you may not be a Trump supporter (I can't categorically assert that, and I have not) it nevertheless emerges that: a) you certainly have no aversion to the Trump brand despite the political connotation (arguably most politically charged of all brands); b) you are most likely enthusiastic about it, and the political connection doesn't put you off c) you don't recognise that, regardless of a and b, you can't, in the given circumstances, choose to review a Trump brand service and not be, or at least appear to be giving away a political allusion. In conclusion - while you being free to create anything and me being free to watch anything is besides the point - this video conceals a political "incrimination" on your part even if you sincerely don't see it as such and wholeheartedly reject it, there's an inextricable political membrane that is, to me, undeniable, and to a viewer is easier or harder to ignore, depending on individual. And, of course, it would be within your right to run around chanting "America First" while wearing a MAGA hat, but you couldn't claim that to be about travelling rather than politics. P.S. As far as I can be self-aware, there's no malevolent intent in my comments and I regret if they come across as disrespectful - that's none of my intention. Have a good evening.
