The problem with importing cheap, instead of making quality! Carpentry is almost a lost art. But you see beautiful wooden furniture made by skilled artisans that is even hundreds of years old that is sought after at premium price. Can you imagine the laminate chipboard crap, lasting even 5 years with normal use? Sorry😁 grew up with a hobby wood turner artisan, his pieces are beautiful unique art, and heirlooms. So I see the lack of skilled carpenters, the lack of apprentices, the lack of quality work that stands the test of time. Hopefully tariffs will reverse the avalanche of cheap crap being poured into the country, and people will appreciate quality again.
