Stability is a result of our economy's struggles with uncertainty, housing issues, foreclosures, global volatility, and the pandemic's consequences. To restore stability and promote growth, all sectors must respond quickly to concerns about growing inflation, slow growth, and trade disruptions.

Back in 2017 Australia stopped making one single car due to the introduction of zero tariffs. Every pickup bought in Australia after that was built in Thailand. Thailand has a 300% tariff on imported cars and an auto worker makes about $500 per month. The mental Australian Government obviously believed that we should have competed with huge wages, holiday pays, sick leave, maternity leave, work cover insurance, short hours, huge penalty rates, whilst Thailand and others have none of this. LISTEN TO ME, anyone who opposes Trump on this, hates your country or they are dumb beyond belief. There is no such thing as a free lunch and there is no such thing as FREE Trade.

The trade imbalance has always gone against the United States. Buy American. It costs more, but it lasts much longer and the money you save by not buying the same garbage Chinese priducts over and over will save money in the end. I'm wearing a garbafe set of new sweat pants from China, and the pocket is ripping out after less than ten times wearing these. Unfortunately I bought several pairs because the price was cgeap at Walmart. Meanwhile the nuce pair I bought three years ago, and have worn many many times still looks fantastic and has had no issues whatsoever. I remember when textile mills were everywhere. Tariffs will increase costs of finished goods and components used throughout US manufacturing. This will be an immediate and huge hike in inflation. To fight inflation the Fed will have to hike interest rates which will be wonderful for the billionaires but possibly take away the middle class. Inflation is so high that consumers are literally taking debt for basic life necessities. Collapse has indeed begun..

I work in electronics. You pay the tariffs. China does not. We buy the parts from China because there are no other options and we have to pass the price onto consumers. You are talking 50-60 years of building capacity to make these parts that require rare earth minerals that America is completely devoid of. Now, America is already behind. So you have to still do trade with the world because people aren’t going to sit around for 50 years and wait and we have to have the resources to build infrastructure and make parts. So then that’s 50 years of paying high prices because they will absolutely intact their own tariffs in retaliation AND massive investments to build the capacity. Where is that money going to come from??? Meanwhile, people cut the US out because China already makes what they want and America has made it too expensive to deal with us… Trump is a simpleton that doesn’t get it at all. He is going to tank our economy.

I would really love to buy a Ford Mustang as a resident of the Netherlands, but it's not just the tariffs that are the problem. American car manufacturers don't make cars tailored to the European market. Ford has been selling cars in Europe for decades, but for example, the emissions of a Mustang are so high that importing a 2017 Mustang comes with higher import costs due to the poor emissions of this particular model. Even a Ferrari 488 is cheaper to import into the Netherlands from Germany than that Mustang. As I said, as long as American car manufacturers do not adapt their offerings to the European market, there is little future potential for their car brands in Europe.

The oldest is now 23 with his own family, and he has warned his oldest son (now3) that great-grandpa doesn't threaten, he warns of consequences, means what he says, and will fulfill his "promises". Tariffs are very complicated. There are cases where it can result in products being manufactured in the USA I stead of China, however there are cases where that is still too expensive and the company will just continue to buy from China and just pass the rising costs on to the consumers. It’s very difficult to say what each company in each industry will do and how they’ll react.

But there was a light at the end of the tunnel with Reagan. Hard times but we knew would make it.
