Given the nature of the US election system, which is based upon an Electoral College paradigm, does it make ANY sense to vote for RFK JR. or Cornell West - or ANY candidate running as an Independent or Green Party contender. Marianne Williamson and Dean Phillips MAY have a shot as a Democrat candidate, but so did Tim Scott, Ron De Santis, Asa Hutchinson and Chris Christie - as Republicans, and we all know how things turned out for them. You are absolutely correct. People think that by casting a protest vote, or a vote for somebody who doesn't have a chance, that they are teaching the Dems a lesson. The leaders don't freaking care. People need to learn that with the US system, a vote for anyone other than a repub or a Dem is a wasted vote. Change the parties, but going third party is a total waste. I've heard people say over and over that they don't want to vote for the lesser of two evils. I say, well if you don't, you may very well end up with the greater of two evils as president, and well that's really genius. I used to vote for third party, or a candidate who really believed the way I do, but other than making you feel good for a short while, it it completely a waste of time.
