@Joey Tomlinson May I make a quick mention of Georgia 2008? Or Turkey in Cuprus in 1973? Or Turkey in Iraq 2008 and 2019? Or Russia into Eastern Ukraine and specifically Crimea from 2014 to present day? The UN condemned all of these invasions but ultimately did nothing, because the aggressors themselves are members of the UN and have the ability to veto any action. The only ones you can rely upon to take action are NATO, and you don't want that. That means world war. It sounds to me like you have a short memory. But even then, that was not my point. Germany was allowed to invade Czechoslovakia in 1939, even though France and Britain promised to defend them against a German invasion. They allowed Germany to occupy Czechoslovakia if Hitler promised peace.

The narrative constantly preaches about self-righteous NIMBY "empathy" and muh humanity, and will never acknowledge that humanity is also tribal and exploititive. The narrative sees "refugees" as the most holy people as well, who have also someshow shed their tribal, exploititive humanity. Then they wonder why allowing the status quo festers the problem. I don't agree with persecuting someone on the basis of religion or ethnicity. But I do also believe in the right of a country to hold true to its culture and its people. The migrant crisis initiated by Germany's previous chancellor is a good example of an issue that can threaten a country's culture, identity and even safety. While it is important to try to assist others in a humanitarian capacity, it's also incredibly important to maintain the integrity of one's country's culture, traditions, security and people. Countries like the United States and Canada have become incredibly multicultural over the last few decades. And while these two countries have a higher capacity to make room for additional cultures, languages, traditions and people - it has also come at a cost. There are numerous problems arising from the mixing of various cultures and the clashing of their opposing views. This has even manifested into physical violence, and I think that is something that needs to be taken under consideration when we talk about the ability for a country to undertake such a multinational endeavour as accepting numerous nationalities from all around the world with its borders en mass. I say this as an immigrant, with lived experience, who has resided in Poland, Germany and Canada.

there's no such thing as singular identity, all cultures are always mixing just as are people, Germans today are belivers of an asian religion, speak and write under latin influence, speak mostly english as a second language (which is ironic, and also kinda supiscious because, learning and adapting american and britishh cultureis okay, but "muslim" is taking them over?), have ideals of masculinity and society based on greeks ( that are mediterraneans) culture is not still in time, it changes, i doubt any of those "ancestora" thay talk about would recognize these germanic people that look more latin than anything. we can record culture, history, but we can't stop it, in globalized world it is just a matterof time for unification, that's not bad or good, it's a fact. culture is just the new word for race, they can't be of our culture they say, but if you are son of immigrants, was born in Germany, lives there, shares the culture, speaks german, you are not german, why is that? they themselves answer it by denying other options, "right to hold to true to its culture and people", Europe is mixeed all over, germanic, celtic, latin, italic, balkan, even germany is composed of many germanic groups that were swallowed, imagine that guy fighting against the austrian coming back today and seeing his descendants figthing for the "german people"

The Turkish Grey Wolves are a clear example of that, but Arabs have this problem as well to a certain extent. Germany should tackle this problem just as hard as native German Nazism. However, the German government always say "Antisemitism from Muslim immigrants is bad, but..." instead of just saying it's bad. And that's a bad thing. If you make difference between those two groups, German Nazis have a reason of existing. The German government is having troubles with tackling this. Can you imagine what would happen if BLM was bigger in Germany? BLM Germany literally wants the German government to collect ethnic data on their people again. The German government probably is also coming with all kinds of excuses to accept that and that would give even more rise to Nazis. When is Germany going to learn extremism in general is a bad thing?

There is a huge difference between patriotism and fascism. You can be proud of your heritage, actively engage in cultural practices and traditions and not be hateful of other people. Fascism was a militaristic, expansive and genocidal movement that planned for war, murder and looting as early as the 1920s. By the way, I'm surprised very that an Indian - if you are really Indian - would say this because India has been the country with the greatest work migration since WWII. There are large numbers of Indians through the Middle East and Southeast Asia that work in other countries. There is also a very, very large community of Pakistanis and Indians in Great Britain. @silverbullet2008bb3 жыл бұрын
Your father's words are wise and true but in the context of the events of this historical era in Germany I'm afraid he's missed the point. The NSDAP rose to power not because of the personal failings of the German people but because of the collapse of the German economy with the attendant hyperinflation and impoverishment of the people, the degeneration of morality in the big cities and the real threat of a communist revolution which caused anarchy and gun battles in the streets as the Reds tried to take areas of Germany by force of arms (they were temporarily successful in areas such as Munich until they were put down by the Freikorps). The German people wanted to thrive, as do we all, but one cannot better oneself in a country where there are no jobs, no opportunities and law and order is held together by a militia. Naturally they wanted two things; someone to blame for the state of their country and someone to put it right. It's also important to remember that Germany did not end up in this predicament as a fault of the German people but rather a confluence of unfortunate historical circumstances such as Germany losing WW1 and the knock on consequences of the Treaty of Versailles. I highly recommend you listen to the 1961 speech by Benjamin H Freedman, you'll likely learn much that you never knew and that is certainly not taught in schools or in mainstream documentaries. "German fraternities are a breeding ground for German right wing populism" - One should be a lot more precise on this accusation - the term "fraternity" can have different translations. On the one hand, the term "Studentenverbindung" or "student association" which describes all student associations that follow certain guiding principles, ranging from music associations, academic skiing clubs, catholic student associations, sororities and mixed fraternities to right wing academic men's clubs, the latter being the other definition of "fraternity", so-called "Burschenschaften". Burschenschaften are only a small fraction of German fraternities and the interview partner Philip Stein is not even representing all Burschenschaften but only the radical part of them organized in the Association "Deutsche Burschenschaft", which has a lot of its members not even in Germany but in Austria. So of approx. 1.000 student associations in Germany, he speaks for roughly 30 of them. All in all, the documentary should therefore have been a lot more precise in its language to avoid unfair stereotypization of many student associations that have nothing to do with the right wing movement in Germany.

@@sigmacademy This is not a question of left or right. 90% of Student Associations are conservative in one way or another. One major problem which led to the split of the Deutsche Burschenschaft Association was that they decided that every member must have a German blood line. From all that I've read, and I have been as dutiful as possible doing my research (I have a friend who now lives in in Germany as a successful writer who has urged me to do the research), Germany doesn't seem to be significantly tackling the presence of this black past at all. From all perspectives it seems to be happening again. Are the powers that be turning a blind eye to all this, or are they in fact part of the rise of the ultra-right? It seems to be the latter.

I've always found Germans to be very open about the Nazi past. They were not personally responsible and we know that. I was born in Australia and I think the genocide of the indigenous Australians was reprehensible. I'm disgusted by it. But I'm open to talk about it and want to, so that it doesn't happen again. I have found Germans to be the same. This new neo-nazi wave, I don't know where it comes from. I think it's a failure of the education system in Germany that this event is too distant for them, and for some reason they feel challenged personally. It's a lack of self-worth and a failure of their family and society if they feel too challenged by immigration to just get on with their lives and achieve for themselves.

Pretty much. Because all it is is stress. Imagine the feeling you get having a massive test that you know you’re gonna fail. Now imagine that pretty much every day before and after you’re constantly reminded of it almost every second you’re conscious. Then after a couple days you accidentally get in a car wreck, one of the most stressful feelings most people experience, and just like with the test, you never stop getting *reminded* of it. Now, fortunately I’m not a crazy racist, but I’ve had this kind of hatred from pure self loathing. It blows, and it’s so hard to get out of it, because it’s very difficult to let hatred go. Because in our minds, why would we let something go that’s the center of *all* our problems? All it does is pile up, more and more, and it consumes every part of your day. You get so mentally exhausted that your favorite parts of the day are either doing the few things you still do enjoy to excessiveness, or when you’re unconscious.

@@BeryAb But it is true, like with nationalism and everything. It's always stingy. I dunno why I commented that first comment anymore. I think I was just being stoic and trying to say that it doesn't matter much. Kinda relates to what reject humanity & become monkey is trying to say. That it doesn't really matter, these human concepts. Us, them, nationalism and tribalism. I'm not saying I'm above it cause I am also nationalistic and tribalistic to some degree. It's only my nature. But I think a balance is needed, like everything.

Of course. But at least here in the US nearly all the anti-Semitic comments are from liberal Democrats. But that is fine, right? According to the Left if you are considered an "oppressed' "person of color" then you can say all the hateful things about Jews you want. Even in Germany, nearly all the anti-Jewish attacks have been by migrants from the Middle East and North Africa-not from ethnic Germans. But I guess this is okay, too? Only when white majority group people do bad things is it considered a hate crime. This video has nothing to do with stopping hate. It is about spreading Leftist propaganda.

At some points, but I think some things in this documentary are vague in context and have little evidence to back up what is said. US media is still two times worse tho.

Public television is funded much better in Germany than it is in the US. Last I checked, I think they had some 28 public TV stations. Many of them locally focusing on a Federal State, but others on art or history or whatever. Anyway, public TV in Germany is not the little weird niche thing it is in the US. In Germany it is the big player. And you can chalk up all the other negative comments from Germans here to a typical German character trait. They live to complain. That’s not a typo. The live to complain. They have a term for it. Jammern auf höchstem Niveau. Complaining at the highest level. It’s a double entendre in both languages. Complaining while living at the highest standard. And having learned how to complain like a pro. It’s a German thang. 😉 You can give them almost 30 public TV stations. They complain. 🤣

There are thousands of "media" in the USA. People can chose ones that purposely mislead people to achieve political goals (like Fox and Info Wars) or ones that are admired around the world for accuracy and fairness (like the NY Times). There is even the Wall Street Journal (where the news department is factual while the editorial side is not).
