Tfg isn’t alone in that attitude. That’s been a thing with people with some degree of power in most Western countries for a lot of years. There’s a reason for some of the restrictions (rights of the people) and the checks and balances in the Constitution and it’s not just a beef with the British king or monarchs in general. I’m not completely sure, but I think the people who wrote and amended the Constitution were also trying to put checks on themselves, or at least the group to which they belonged.
