I’m voting for Dr. Jill Stein for president, she’s he only one speaking out against what’s happening to the Palestinians, and from the interviews I’ve seen of her, I agree with her other views on society and wars. For my local congressional race, one candidate accepted massive funding from an Israel ‘super PAC’ during the primary, and this past June the other one took a trip to Israel and wrote a fawning public letter to Netanyahu. For that race, and any other between to Israel bought off candidates, I will write in Aaron Bushnell.

i want to inshaAllah clarify some things from the shari’ah perspective, and pose some questions that i think would be beneficial to the discussion: the principal of “lesser of two evils” is a sharii principal that the scholars have defined that tells you, *when forced to choose from ONLY haram options*, you are told to pick the one that will have the least negative effect. essentially the one that contradicts the shari’ah the least (hence “the lesser of two evils”). three things id like to point out: 1. this principal only applies in cases of *necessity* which the scholars have defined. some have said necessity is when you’re life is definitely on the line, others have gone as far as defining it as you will definitely lose a limb. so the question then becomes, are we in a state of *sharii necessity* today? 2. ⁠the principal applies when you are restricted to *only* haram options. so again we have to ask ourselves, are we faced with only haram options, or is there another halal option on the table? 3. ⁠ironically, using the lesser of two evils principal to justify voting in democratic elections is actually conceding the fact that it is haram, because this principal only applies to actions that are haram. otherwise, there would be no discussion of what is “lesser”, you would simply take the halal option. so lets make sure we understand the perspective correctly-voting in democratic elections is haram and displeasing to Allah swt (if anyone wants evidence please just ask id be happy to send iA). so the last question i want to ask is there a method that the shari’ah provides other than voting to changing evil in society and the world at large?

The president said that if there was no state that they would make one. It does not matter if one is democratic or republican, they are both two sides of the same coin. (As for the Green Party, it’s apart of the same system as I will mention further in this response) Think of all of the effort we put into things like protests and boycotts (these are beneficial and may Allah swt accept their intentions) but what would happen if we put all of this time and effort into the solution that Allah swt has provided us? Instead of searching for the solution though the “kuffars playbook” what if we obtained the solution from the creator himself, Al khaliq? Have we been deduced to the status of the Jews and Christians? Side note: Look at the Muslim majority countries today. If they can not get their act together, what makes you think Muslims in the USA who are around 1% of the population will be able to make change that is pleasing to Allah swt? The problem stems from the foundation of these systems. The democracy/republic/monarchy of the USA and these Muslim countries are not from Islam. Islam is a comprehensive way of living and it encompasses every aspect of our lives. Did Allah swt, the most wise and just, not provide us with a government system? I am confused. This life (dunya) is but a plaything. The real life is paradise. True Muslims live for paradise not this world. All the 50.00 Palestinians martyred in GAZA are now with Allah SWT in paradise. Is this not the way of Allah? Nothing happens but if it is the will of Allah. Do you agree? Both can be true. It's Allah's will that 50000 Palestinians were murdered and given martyrdom. But we are commanded to try and change something bad with our hands, if we fail, then with our mouths, and if we fail then hate it in our hearts. Now responding to what you've said."True muslims live for paradise not this life." It is what we do in this life, the actions or positions we take that define whether we enter jannah or not. The Prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him said: The muslim is the brother of another muslim. He does not harm him, nor surrender him. Whoever fulfills the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfil his needs whoever relieves a Muslim from distress, Allah will relieve him from distress on the Day of Resurrection..... If voting or protesting can be beneficial to our brothers and sisters in Palestine, we have to do it if to refer to this hadith. I can give more exemples from ahadiths or the Sirah of Our Beloved Prophet but it would too long.

But if you are new to Islam my advice to you would be to avoid any kind of divergence issues, to concentrate on the basics of islam and if you have some confusing or complex questions, go see a Cheikh or the Imam of the masjid or even the well known Islamic scholars online and then ask them your questions.
