I agree but they would have to make a national sales tax as well to offset. Total taxable tariffs would be around 750 billion only. Last year the irs collected 4.7 trillion and still had a deficit. In order to get rid of the IRS we would need max tariffs, reduce government waste, and implement a national sales tax. I’m all for it!

IRS is not the actual problem it is a result of provision under 16th amendment of constitution introduced in 1910. REPEAL 16th Amendment and end the provision of INCOME TAX once in for all.

Provision under the 16th Amendment? What does that even mean? In any case, the 16th Amendment does not require anyone to do anything. It did not give Congress any new taxing powers. Our tax laws are found in the Internal Revenue Code, not the Constitution. And there is no law in the Internal Revenue Code that imposes an income tax on the domestic income of Americans. Period. The law needs to be understood and followed, not changed.

I am Happy there is a hiring freeze!! I have numerous friends and family that agree. There is too much bloat in the FED and if you go to any given FED office you can see it for yourself. While I work my ASS off, they take over 100 days off a year. Many do one job that could be combined in with others. I had one friend that got so disgusted she quit. She said the majority of the workers played games, went to the gym, and basically did nothing 90 percent of the time. The agencies wanted to keep the employees regardless of whether they actually did anything just to keep the 'funding' which equated the big paycheck for the person that headed it. Sick in my opinion.

What would be great is to eliminate some of the harmful functions, actions and tactics of the IRS. Remove the requirement for wage earners to file tax, remove fines and interest, remove the function of doing audits of tax payers, remove the function and action of stealing people's money and assets through levy, liens asset seixure and wage garnishment. The only functions and actions of the IRS should be to recieve whatever tax comes in, and report the amount of tax collected each quater, and report where the money is sent. In turn the Treasury needs to publicly report where collected money received from IRS is being spent.

Tax is automatically taken out of wage earners salary so they don't need threats and fines from enforcers since they comply with paying tax by default. The act of filing tax after the tax has already been taken from you is unnecessary and should be abolished for wage earners. Taxed wage earners being fined by enforcers for not filing makes no sense ( Think about it. It's a thing). What if a w2 wage earner went exempt for 9 months out of the year? There are reasons you need to file. The only reason the IRS would refile a return for you is because you either goofed up on your income reporting, didn't file at all, or you tried to cheat on your taxes which triggered an audit. The IRS will start shrinking due to attrition as agents retire, and leave. There may be a short period where they focus on the easy low hanging fruits but I don't think that is a worry.

If your career can be upended overnight because of the whim of the president, you're not going to invest in becoming an expert in a career for the federal government. A lot of these jobs require very specific technical proficiency that isn't applicable outside of that job. It takes months of training. the reason the federal workforce isn't political is because we don't want to have to replace the entire workforce every time there's a new president. This is a huge problem because Donald Trump will not be the president in 4 years and whoever succeeds him doesn't get that expertise back that he drove away.
