He won't Reagan (GOP Policy) started that policy. I mean we are a taxed to death country. Income, cars, sales, property, EVERYTHING we do is taxed. But unless your SS income is more than 15K you aren't being taxed on it even then say your SS is 20k only 5k is being taxed -which it should of never been.
@kima3565
@kima3565 4 күн бұрын
And without incoming revenue, there will not be any SS for those that pay into it now because those that are working now are paying for those that are currently collecting. Your not receiving what you paid, what you paid went for those before you as we now pay for those currently collecting. And you can blame Bush who used our SS to fund war. So be happy that you're even getting something. We have to pay for you and may never collect or wait until we're 70+. Regan embezzled trillions of SS to fund government programs without ever paying a cent back. The system was mismanaged by none other than Republicans. Stop thinking Republicans are for you, research why and when SS was mismanaged

Here’s another…At least your generation was able to afford a home to invest in & got a chance to pay property taxes to contribute to your local schools. The generations below you can’t even afford rent w/ a full time job + let alone save for a down payment to invest. If seniors don’t pay tax then guess who will…the generations below you whose student loans became our 30 yr mortgages which is just great cause we can’t afford a home anyway🙄 u know what’s killing us…the cost of living period. Our American dream died as soon as our govt allowed private equity into our housing market add in the Patriot Act/citizen United ruling & there isn’t a pair of boot straps in the world that could lift us up out of this. @Zappy1210
@Zappy1210 4 күн бұрын
You miss the point of tariffs. Ever wonder why US automakers sell little to no US made cars/trucks in China? The majority of Europe, most of the world in fact? It's because those countries place tariffs on consumer products not made in their countries. For example, China charges a 200% tariff on imported US made cars. The entire world has been doing tariffs on US made products, it's time we repay the favor. All business's merely need to do is produce their products in the US where we consume more products than anywhere else in the world , and business's will have no tariffs. Trump is a business man, not a politician. He knows what he is doing and it's in the best interest of every single American. The only products and business's that will be hurt by tariffs are those who do not offer American jobs and make their products on American soil. Several business's are already making plans to relocate or expand factories to the US to avoid tariffs. That creates American jobs and boosts the economy. Hope you found this helpful.
@karenflynn6589
@karenflynn6589 4 күн бұрын
@@Zappy1210 No, it's NOT helpful. It could take decades to build manufacturing facilities in this country so that we are completely self-sufficient. Equipment will need to be imported, raw materials will need to be imported (there are some that are not available in the U.S., to begin with), and this is why the last time Trump imposed tariffs small manufacturers, and farmers suffered, many went belly up, and why the cost of food and other domestic-origin products increased so much. Raw materials and equipment had to be imported. In the meanwhile, until all these facilities are up and running, and probably even afterwards, WE are going to pay significantly more for absolutely everything we need, because it isn't the exporter who pays the tariffs, it's WE the CONSUMERS. Also, please name ONE Trump business that was successful. There aren't any. He has no clue how money works. He only knows how to spend money--OTHER PEOPLE'S money.
@mercedeswolf9473

@Zappy...you know why most of the factories are in china&india?coz they offer cheap workforce that is not possible in usa.usa workers want a higher salary and the factory owners dont want to hire american workers for this reason.and tariff is not paid by any country who delivers stuff.the one who are taking the stuff will pay the tariff.and who will pay the tariff?its you american consumers.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣so good luck for 25% higher grocery prices.
@Zappy1210
@Zappy1210 4 күн бұрын
@ So let me understand your stance. You support "sweat shops"? Having children working 16 hours a day making cheap clothes for $2.00 a day? Interesting... However, you're wrong about American's having to pay these tariffs. I've explained this in a few other posts in this very thread, but one more time won't hurt. Production of fuel and non-fuel minerals in the US was all but shut down by the former administration, that's a fact. The US has more fuel based oil in the ground than any country in the world, fact. The US has an untapped abundant supply of rare Earth minerals in the ground. Every product on Earth is made from everything the US has already but does not produce. Trump executive order free's all that up so we may produce our own materials for use in product goods. By tapping into what the US already has there is 0 need to buy it from other countries, hence 0 tariffs. Also the biproduct of this is 100's of thousands of new jobs. Now on to "sweat shop" goods vs made in America goods. Yes, "sweat shop" labor can not be beat legally in the US, I call that a good thing... BUT compare prices of imported vs American made, not much difference in price honestly. What's that mean? It means China is making a fortune off of American's buying cheaply made products made by "sweat shop" labor. Buy American made with materials made in the USA. When American companies no longer have to buy materials (ie Steel etc) from other countries which charge a premium with shipping etc etc, prices WILL drop, workers CAN be paid more. Win, win, win. As for the price of groceries? They were much, much cheaper before Biden took office, another fun fact. This will be fun to come back to in just a year or so to say "I told ya so". lol

Social Security is under pressure. @NestThermostat-y3j If you're self employed, I have no advice to offer you because I am not self employed. If you aren't self employed then I can offer you this advice. If you end up owing taxes every year when you file then you need to check your W-4 and make the necessary adjustments so you get a refund instead of owing. It may be something as simple as having an extra $25 - $50 in taxes taken out of your paycheck every payday which can be specified on your W-4. I have $25 extra taken out every payday which guarantees me a refund every year, it's not a huge refund, but it's a refund nonetheless. If I find that I need to adjust that then I do so, and I don't miss it at all. Just don't let your employer tell you that you can't make changes to your W-4 because you can, if they tell you any different they're lying. I hope this helps.

Taxes pay for schools, roads, infrastructure, emergency management, all sorts of safety net programs, things that are vital for everyday life. However, when the majority of the funding comes from the middle and lower classes, because the wealthy pay relatively nothing compared to their income, it makes the burden even greater for the average citizen. Foreign companies will not pay a single penny for ANYTHING they export to the U.S.--that's not how tariffs work--they never have, and they never will. U.S. businesses that import things from other countries will pay the tariffs, then pass those costs on to the consumers. WE will be paying more for EVERYTHING, because even components and ingredients have to be imported.

Maybe there is something wrong, but I worked the same job for many years as independent contractor, I started paying more tax because I couldn’t deduct certain items as before Trump‘s tax reform, which makes me think that shouldn’t show all the income that I make to save money to buy items that cannot deduct anymore. Anyway, I paid 10 times more taxes a year that Donald Trump did.

I think eliminating the “State Tax Deduction Cap” would be a VERY BAD IDEA. Writing off YOUR State Taxes simply allows those STATES to Increase Taxes to eat up the difference and Their Citizens to NOT FEEL what THEIR States are doing to THEM. That is, the Federal Government and the US Citizenry SUBSIDIZES Those States … Those People … who DO NOT Fight THEIR State Governments’ Taxation. (ex. NYC $ State, California) WHY should MY Taxes be used to Support THEIR States’ TAXES?

Customs and Tariffs could be the External Revenue Service and doing away with or lowering income taxes will help to offset price increases from tariffs. The idea of tariffs is to increase domestic manufacturing but over regulation and insurance expenses on employment in the US are still a huge hinderance to job creation and fair wages in this country. I was a small business employer for a short time in construction and to pay a worker $10 per hour back in the eighties cost me about $ 60 per hour with all the taxes and insurance, licensing and other benefits and expenses for the employees. Most of them didn’t want the benefits and were willing to work for a little higher pay as 1099 or contract labor employees. Also my clients were not able to pay for the exorbitant cost of employee benefits that would make the job cost at least 3 times more. The bad problem is that most contract laborers and a lot of 1099 employees don’t file their taxes properly or even often don’t report their income at all. When I hired employees my income went down and I made less than any of my employees, because of unforeseen expenses and the inability to get any bids at a high enough rate to pay for the extra expenses that are added to employee wages and salaries.for example, if I bid a roof job at $50 a square for the labor to remove and replace and did it myself I could make $350 to $500 in a twelve hour day but if I had employees I would have to bid $150 per square to net the same amount and would have to leave the job site to make bids to keep them busy and often they were less productive when the boss was not there. The biggest employee expense is worker’s compensation which can exceed payroll and employment insurance which was 11% at the time. Also employer portions of taxes are a big expense. And the inability of customers to pay high costs for all these expenses makes it difficult to impossible to compete with companies who operate illegally with illegal labor.

We need a consumer tax to replace an income tax. First, all food not prepared for immediate consumption should be free of tax along with healthcare and medicine. If I buy a car eat out etc I pay the consumer tax. The choice is mine. If I don’t want to pay the tax I don’t make the purchase. If I save the money instead of spending it I am rewarded with tax free interest earned. This is a lot smarter than a tariff.

The proposed "External Revenue Service" is redundant. The United States Customs Service was a federal law enforcement agency of the U.S. federal government. Established on July 31, 1789, it collected import tariffs, performed other selected border security duties, as well as conducted criminal investigations. Why try to re-invent the wheel THAT HAS BEEN WORKING WELL FOR 236 YEARS? No substantive changes have been made aside from expanding the name to be U.S. Customs and Border Protection

They're already changing the tax code to reclassify what overtime is and how tips work. The new overtime rules are going to be calculated over a 4 week period so if you work "overtime" one week you just get your hours cut the next and they don't have to pay a dime over the standard rate. Tips are going to be paid to the company going forward and the company decides who gets the tip. Didn't anyone read Project 2025? Even social security only gets taxed when people are getting multiple streams of income in addition to taking social security. It's just another tax cut for the wealthy. But enjoy your "tax Cuts".

Trump plans to invest 500 billion dollars into AI infrastructure in the U.S. - and that’s a big deal. But here’s what he said to reporters this past Tuesday: 'Look, I’ve got an incredible plan to put 500 billion dollars into AI infrastructure - it’s absolutely necessary to get this country moving forward. Honestly, we need to make sure we’re supporting the people who are really helping make America great, especially where the brain doesn’t always sit in the right place. You know what I mean. And these people, they always have our back - no matter what nonsense we tell them. And let me tell you, they are never forgotten. They show up, they vote, they make their mark for us - they’re fantastic. For these people, this is huge - it’s going to lighten their load, believe me! And anyone who doesn’t get that, well, they’ve got no clue, absolutely no clue. But you know what? The fake news will twist it, just like they always do. It’s unbelievable!'"

@@jackskysegel9626 as ai may create jobs. It’s already causing job displacement and corporations will let that happen silently to keep profits up. So I’m nervous going forward to see how this bill affects us. I think we should be cautious on the uses of ai because on one end it can be a major innovation. However, there could be backlash we can’t even yet fathom. I have realized in the past few months, we all need to be willing to have more civil conversations. Also we need to get out of the “fake news” mindset when it just comes to something we oppose. We need to question all sources, our biases, and lean on our neighbors. The division is a tool for all in power. I’m hoping for the best but expecting the worst from this just incase.
