An administrator/director leaving a company does not suddenly create life-endangering turmoil. Making an issue of this shows how unfamiliar with the basic working world you are. The “safety workers” were security staff related to the FAA. Specifically pen pushers working in that department nation wide. This would amount to literally 1 person (if that) at every location. Furthermore, security staff have zero to do with flying practices. The FAA has been reporting being understaffed since 2011. The air traffic controller union called an official staging crisis in 2012. This is a long standing issue and nothing to do with the Trump admin. “But it caused confusion” no it didn’t. This is all standard procedure. Nothing is out the ordinary. All you’re demonstrating is how unemployed you all are by making things up and claiming the professional world of aviation is as inept as you are having a breakdown trying to order pizza over the phone.

John, first of all, please don’t say the plane ran into the helicopter, it was the other way around. The jet is approaching the runway at close to 200mph under IFR rules and had the right of way. The helicopter was flying and requested from the tower to be under VFR rules. The tower kept asking the copter if they had the jet in sight and they kept responding, affirmative. This at the most busiest time at that airport with jets landing at a rate of 3 - 4 minute intervals. Add to this the helicopter being at the wrong altitude for that area and you have a tragedy.

At National Airport, this kind of accident is actually FAR, FAR MORE likely than at any other U.S. airport! It's been overburdened for many decades and keeps getting worse!
