Every poll for the last 20 years has shown that the most popular leader in the West Bank has been Marwan Barghouti. He’s been described as the Nelson Mandela of the Palestinian cause, now rejects violence and accepts Israel right to exist within the June 4th 67 lines. Once again, DW covers a controversial issue in the Arab/Israeli conflict by interviewing only someone on the pro-Arab side, without anyone to speak for the pro-Israel side. This is a recurring pattern on this channel. Obviously, there's another side here -- people who think that Biden's sanctions against the "settlers" had been unfair. However, DW doesn't present a single word of that perspective. Why not tell both sides of a story and let us make up our own minds about who's right?
Күн бұрын
Not every issue needs all sides to comment, particularly not all the time. DW does not ask Hamas to come on to defend its October murder rampage. Why should DW ask for comment from the terrorists who are expelling Palestinians from their lands with direct and indirect Israeli assistance?
@Leaf8823Күн бұрын
how is this guy pro arab?
@adz95121 сағат бұрын
Dude, DW is so incredibly pro-Israel it's super rare to get someone with a pro-Palestinian POV. Even their own staff came out recently to criticise DW for having such a biased, pro-Israel stance.
@canitbethat19 сағат бұрын
@@Leaf8823 The topic of this report was supposedly Donald Trump's revocation of Biden's sanctions against certain Israeli "settlers" and associated organizations. What we actually heard was an "expert" who changed the subject to accusations that Israel and the US intend to annex the West Bank. His implication, I suppose, is that this is the reason for rescinding those sanctions, but there's obviously another side to this that we didn't hear. For example, Biden had sanctioned people who had already been arrested, convicted, and sentenced for their crimes, or were in various stages of being prosecuted in Israeli courts. There's an argument to be made that a US president has no business unilaterally pre-empting the legal processes of an allied state by imposing punishments of his own, without due process, just to serve his own political interests. It's not a argument we're likely to hear on DW, though. :-) I do wonder, though, what the German people would think of a US president who started treating the German legal system similarly.
