My ex's dad's house burned down (we're still close) and my best friend is super on edge (we're in sf) due to having a newborn (6wks) and is making a go bag and buying a car specifically because of this. We had a damn tsunami evacuation last month! I manage a property w my partner and I had to fight them to let me go door to door bc it was that urgent that they wanted to just run, but I told them they would have to leave without me because this is our duty. I am calm in crises but I was tearing up seeing people's expressions change as I told them to leave now, not after a shower, not in ten minutes, NOW. It isn't stopping.
