As an european, I don't give much though to this stuff, your nation, you do what you want and elect who you want. But I find it troubling, that the defence minister wants to bomb a bunch of places, where US intervention is not welcomed. And yet, in Ukraine, where they want to be democratic, and where they want to be US allies, he just sees it as russia wanting it's stuff back. Like, first of all, Ukraine is not stuff, it's a big nation with it's own things going on. And russia had a bunch of time and opportunities to diplomatically befriend Ukraine. We in Europe try to support them as much as we can, but our military industry is much smaller, and will take time to rebuild. Meanwhile, the US has vast reserves of military stuff just lying around, that would go out of date anyways. And yet they still don't want to help a democracy fight back tyranny. And I get being anti war. But that shouldn't mean giving up or surrendering. If I thought of nations that would easily give in to threats of violence, I would have never thought US. I always thought you guys wanted to be a strong nation not to be messed with. And yet now a bunch of gun-ho warriors and red blooded 'muricans want to give in to russkies threatening? It seems so out of character. And might really damage the US rep on the global scale.
