Im from a suburb in Texas that grew very rapidly while I was young. I watched every area of untouched land, pastures, & woods that I played/explored in when I was a kid all get dug up before my eyes & turned into roads, neighborhoods, apartments, condos, townhomes, a golf course, a very large grocery store & shopping center, and a multi-lane toll road. Every creek/stream that was in our immediate/particular area got dug up, filled in with either concrete, rocks, dirt, & grass, and turned into drainage ditches or rainwater runoff areas. The creeks/streams that we fished in & picked crawfish & little shrimp-things out of the water are gone. Either dry, or destroyed. 95% + of the wildlife in our area is gone. The peace & quiet is gone. It’s been heartbreaking to watch it happen over all these years.

I remember reading about Roosevelt and the folks in America were so gleeful to explore the new National Parks when they were made.. people came by the thousands on railroad which all of that provided jobs and of course it was a job boom. Besides that, it gave people a great sense of wonder, of pride, joy, spiritual wholeness, wellness, whatever else you want to add Im sure it was felt. People have forgotten that America was the first place ever to make a National Park, and we just dont have pride in our natural areas as much as 100 years ago +. I realize the swamps arent necessarily Nat'l Parks but theyre beloved treases all the same, and I feel we need to protect them. Once ruined and gone, we cannot recreate them. They are Nature made, period. We mess this up with greed, thats it, gone. We are really going to miss clean air and water as creatures who depend on it naturally would.

And also ,I was spiritually dead wanted to die didn’t care about life ,I went through so much in life physically and mentally that my feeling became num in a way and I started seeking God and He found me he revealed stuff to me and why I had to go through certain stuff in my life, only to bear more fruit in my life ,I’m not telling people about Jesus because some pastor told me to or something else I’m telling people because He gives a peace that surpasses understanding 😔👍

So what'll it be, Putting people back into jobs but possibly effecting an entire important wildlife reserve, or protecting a wildlife reserve but leave many people without jobs.

@@twt000 that doesn't assist the people that are jobless. While yeah I know it's good that they are making money, none of that can be flushed back into the community when half of it is unemployed

@@thewifipassword3942 It goes directly to the community. The mine could ruin the swamp and create a net loss in jobs. The mine/mining does not put hardly any money back into communities.

Jobs are not worth the destruction of a natural landscape. I’m sorry that’s a shitty fucking thing to say but it’s the truth. What we need is a government that invests in GREEN industry that doesn’t mine our national and state parks, protected areas and wildlife refugees.

always true, people always run on the promise of jobs but the underlying truth is that most of the jobs they want will not even be able to pay for a one bedroom apartment, we don't need more jobs just better jobs
