at 3:30- security concerns on acquiring greenland seems less convincing because greenland is already part of NATO and hosts the permanent US base, but ecnomic ambitions are more evident, the islands vast untapped resources including rare earth minerals gains significance as arctic ice melts, and this opens new shipping routes, however greenland currently prohibits oil extraction and rare earth mining and this could complicate ecnomic exploitation but what is alarmed allies is trump's assertion that he might use military force to acquire greenland. at 5:50- melting arctic ice making new shipping routes that were short routes between north america and europe

Let India have a refreshingly different action plan in place in this instance. Unlike Greenland, Canada and Panama, let India very happily and voluntarily offer to merge with the USA. Then all Gujjus will become Americans as per their dream, without unnecessarily risking their lives! Based on the combined population, PM Modi will become the President of the combined geo-entity and the Sindhis of Ulhasnagar will then legitimately become USA (instead of the current avatar Ulhasnagar Sindhi Association)! Fayda hi fayda hai!!

Well this is actually a good suggestion but don't expect that India will look like USA anytime soon or... ever because it will be just like how India was under the British rule, a colony only to be exploited. Look at Puerto Rico, Micronesia, Guam etc all are US colonies and nowhere in development as good as USA proper.

Thanks Jaydeep. US has genuine stakes in the Arctic as the ice is melting. But this contradicts the usually held view that Trump will make America inward looking. The rhetoric and reality are entwined, but Trump won’t retreat from Europe. The cost will be too high. Appreciate your feedback. Regards
