It's up to the judge to hand down the sentencing after the jury's verdict. If guilty beyond reasonable doubt the judge can order sentencing. No more fines. Go straight to jail.

A significant point. Judges in trials without a jury, will spend far more time looking over the evidence, corroboration, etc., to be certain the pending decision against the defendant is proper. Psychological research on jury trials show that jurors also follow the same vein of procedure and thought.

In NY the jury doesn't have the full court record and evidence in the jury room - they have to request which portions/pieces they want to have available as part of their deliberations. That's not how it is in many other states - the jury usually has ready access to it all ...
