Trump's remarks are vacuous. inflation bad. I'm going to fix it by tariffs which will actually make inflation worse by increasing import costs which will be passed on to the American consumer. Taxes bad on billionaires, so I'm going to tax the middle class and the lower class and spectacularly increase the national debt as I did in my previous administration.
@OzzieDeWittСағат бұрын
I can't understand why the American people think that tariffs somehow impact the country sending the goods. The effect of Tariffs on the " exporter" are minimal, if any. They may not sell as much but, they don't pay the tariff. Tariffs will only push up the price of those goods to the consumer. It's the American people that will effectively pay the tariffs with higher prices at the point of sale. Tariffs are just another form of taxation. A stealth tax in effect. It will take money OUT of their pockets not the other way around. Very odd reasoning.
@akmpolsenСағат бұрын
Because when Trump lies, they believe him. Yes, it really is that simple.
@bmcb306445 минут бұрын
I’m always intrigued by this type of argument that seems to be more done by left leaning people…as you can see in the example above, Ozzie here starts strong with the usual liberal cliche ‘I can’t understand’ which they think will make them superior. But then they casually slip in ‘they may not sell as much’ as if it’s a throw away line…that’s the point, the threat of not moving as much is a big one to any country!
@OakleyMoodie21 минут бұрын
@@bmcb3064 So you don't dispute the fact that American consumers will need to pay more. You are more concerned with the pain you will be able to inflict to another country and its population. You ARE a Trump supporter. "Cut off your nose to spite your face" thinking!
@OzzieDeWitt17 минут бұрын
@bmcb3064 Not on essential consumables that America imports 365 days a year, every year. The effect is minimal to the exporter and certainly within their percentage of market fluctuation. And, just to add another corrective point, I'm as conservative as you can get with finance and attitude. However, I don't like people being misled. Especially by people that have been bankrupted 6 times but, who profess to be " good at business". Whichever way you dissect it the American people would pay more and the effect on the exporter would be far less than anticipated or believed. If America imports "X" tons of whatever, over an ongoing period and there is no domestic equivalent at a similar cost then America will still import"X" tons of that product over the same given period. Tariffs were designed to stop overseas Manufacturers undercutting a domestic equivalent to give the domestic equivalent a chance to compete. Because of that, Tariffs are also a convenient way to leverage tax revenue. However, if there is no domestic equivalent or that equivalent is far more expensive then tariffs become purely a stealth tax on the consumer. There's no "left wing socialist thinking" here, on the contrary, just an understanding of how markets and consumption of product works.

What may have hurt Biden the most is our media’s sycophantic coverage of his presidency, the denial of his very clear mental decline, and the numerous other instances his office has dropped the ball. The media has helped Trump because their constant lies in their coverage of Biden makes people not believe what they say about Trump.
