As a woman myself, I totally agree that women have no place in combat. There are too many other very important roles in the military that women can do with excellence to put them in combat for which they are ill-suited. I have sisters, a daughter, and several granddaughters. None of them would want to be in combat or wish that on other women. Thank you, Pete, for having the courage to speak up for what is right. Whats wrong with this? As a disabled combat veteran i 100% agree. We went 13 months without a shower, elecricity/ black on water constantly. They physically can not do it, infections and what not, not to mention the distraction they cause the men. Even the grossest chicks after isolation seem decent. Girls go from a 2 state side to an 8 on deployment. Its a distraction, its why girls were not allowed in the infantry with us in the first place. @@nneisler Combat, firefighting and police work are physically demanding. I don’t think it’s a question of women not being able to do the job as some women are more physically fit than some men. It’s a question of standards. Standards have been lowered in the military, police and fire to accommodate the less physically fit so smaller females can pass the test. However if standards are put back in place, high standards, and females can pass them, then how can you deny them the chance to serve? Just my opinion. The point is that Leftist policies have blurred reality. This is the real problem.

American male POWs have been horrifically treated by some enemy nations/groups. Japan in WW2 being a notorious example. Read up what happened to USMC private Ralph Ignatowski in the Battle of Iwo Jima. Tortured and mutilated to death in unimaginable ways. Men have been raped and sexually assaulted in wars too... in fact the US military itself is guilty of this, both against American servicemen and male Iraqi POWs in Abu Ghraib. Why is it worse if it's a woman? It isn't.

I was in civil engineering, and I have absolutely no problem with having women in Support or Mission Support roles. Yes, I understand that there are times, such as the Jessica Lynch story, where it cannot be avoided that women in the military may encounter combat. However, we should not be signing women up for Infantry jobs, tanks, etc where it is the entire mission.

Women are required to be weapons trained regardless of their job or rank. So are the men. You can get ambushed if you are a lower ranked military cook or a general. Bullets don't care about your sex, job, position or rank. And being a man isn't going to save you from a WMD or a bullet. I understand that men are stronger than women, but the chances of you doing having a Chuck Norris hand to hand combat is slim. It's usually going to be fight between who has the better weapon and whose ammo hits who first. This is not a knock on men but unless there is some reason that you would anticipate that a woman would "be in the way" or "harm the mission" then I don't see a reason to exclude her if she meets the requirements and isn't afraid. I get that people just hate the idea of a woman being hurt or killed, but if she signs up for it and applies then why ban her from doing it?? If it's a male ego thing because you don't want women doing something you perceive to be a man's job or if you are worried, they may look better than you then I suggest you humble yourself. I know males who went to war and pissed their pants because they were scared of death. Many of them couldn't think their way out of danger or even handle a gun fight or a combat situation.
