Howdy guys, my name is Attorney Walter Rudolph Hnot, III. New Jersey born, MBA, JD, Master Mason and a tireless advocate for the homeless and low income who are seeking disability benefits. It's simple, if you are within the law's requirements for disability benefits, you get a check every month, and health insurance. No, it doesn't include a new iPhone, house or cool car, but, with your SSI/SSDI disability backpay, you can potentially get those things...with your own disability money :-). I created this channel because of how many crazy things I was hearing out in the general public on how this system works. I did library seminars, academia seminars, food truck seminars (which I prefer), etc...The online video platform is the best way to reach the majority of you guys.

I started paying into SS while in high school. I then joined the Army and retired paying into SS the whole time. I acquired enough credits to be able to receive SS. When I retired from the Army, I was fortunate enough to secure a job working for a state and paid into the state's Public Employee Retirement Association. So, when I retired from the state and started drawing my retirement from PERA, SS took OVER HALF of my SS benefits because I was receiving my PERA retirement!!! So, all this does is makes SS pay me WHAT I AM SUPPOSED TO GET!!! It's not a raise and doesn't even pay me back for all the years that SS deducted MY MONEY from me for all the years before this became law!!

I paid into BOTH state Workers compensation, and SS, for 35 years! Two, separate , mandatory insurance programs! The unmitigated audacity of politicians 40-50 years ago, to legislate away any part of what I EARNED is criminal! I’m ENTITLED to the full value of SSDI, and my work comp! Paying for guacamole, and ranch dip, then enjoying both is not “double dipping “! Add to that, that the B.S. AIME calculations did not factor in the $40,000.00 in lost fringes! It’s not “excessive “, that the full value of my SSDI, and work comp would pay 90% of my gross wages, while ignoring the 40-k in lost fringes! It’s not a “windfall “, that my buddies are knocking down 120-k, plus 45-k in fringes, while I am stuck at home, in pain! Your fellow vloggers, like Ed Weir, can bite me! I want what I am due! Unfortunately, I live in a reverse offset state, so I will never see any of the 70-k stolen by state workers comp, before I reached 62 last year!

@ Trump could very well throw this none sense in the trash where it belongs. With all those PUBLIC SECTOR jobs and pensions, getting those government pensions sin additional to 90% social security increase to government workers why is congress worried about the working stiff? The social security that these public employees paid into was very minimal certainly not what the average stiff pays but hey they got a 90% increase on top of those triple pensions they must be celebrating. A job in the public sector is not a job as in the private sector in the private sector you work your ass out to where by the time to reach 57 you are like a broken horse and limp your way into death. Not many men in my community live beyond 68 most die before they reach the golden 70 years they put out. In the PUBLIC SECTOR, most retire when they reach certain credits say at the age of 57 like most of my family, and collect all their pensions. They sure live a long life afterward. I suppose this is the reward for being a prison guard in the BIGGEST OPEN AIR PRISON IN THE WORLD THE GOOD OLD USA.

Here is the most important aspect of this whole thing and what the talking heads are not saying is that those PUBLIC EMPLOYEES put very little time to paying for Social Security it made them low-income earners. Low-income learners received a special boast to make their social security a little higher like say welfare on top of the social security. However with pensions of $400,000 per month for may public jobs in my state (undefended of course) giving these PUBLIC EMPLOYEES a 90% increase on their social security will give them an average of $500.00 to $1,000 plus extra a month. While the working stiff gets a small social security check average from $1,100 to $1,800 per month. IT IS A NATIONAL CRIME AND EMBARASMENT TO THIS NATION !!!!!!!!!!

@@SamSam-dy3ct I see your point but 400,000 per month seems like an unheard/rare of pension. I typically thought even a full pension was equal to about 80% of the persons ending salary, provided of course they work the full 30 years or whatever. I know that some of the government positions are very high paying, but wouldn’t that be about 4.8 mil a year? I’m not saying it’s impossible; I just thought that was more than almost all govt jobs/more of a CEO salary. Admittedly though I’m more familiar with federal workers info , not state workers.

I questioned AI on outstanding loans to the government programs out of the Social Security Trust Fund. The government has borrowed $ 2.7 trillion dollars for which it should have been paid back with interest. Over the years the interest would have added about $ 8 Trillion to the Social Security Trust Fund. What should be in the fund right now is about 10 trillion dollars with the interest. What is in the Trust Fund new is about $ 2.8 Trillion dollars. There are about $ 10 Trillion in outstanding loans. The public should really be upset with this fleecing of the Trust Fund. If the loans were paid back their would be enough funds for almost another hundred years without have to work at an older age. Speak you peace loud and clear by contacting your Senators and House Representatives. March and protest in the streets if you have to. Current seniors did not rob your future in Social Security. The government did.

A very large number of people getting their own WEP-reduced payments or none are now eligible for much higher spousal or survivor benefits, assuming they only worked the minimum amount to be eligible but their spouse or ex-spouse paid into SS their whole career. Some of these comments show the IGNORANCE of so many. The "you all get fat pensions", is the most ignorant statement. The assumption is that teachers, police officers, etc. get "fat" monthly pensions. Many, many workers are retired paraprofessionals (AKA teacher's aides) school lunch cafeteria workers, crossing guards, bus drivers, etc. I am among them. My fat pension is $1100 (before deductions) a MONTH. AFTER deductions, I get a whopping $800 per month. I worked 20+ years in a school, later in life. However, prior to that, I worked full-time for 25 years, private sector, paying into Social Security. I am a senior citizen and a widow. Guess how much of that 25 years of Social Security contributions I receive? ZERO. I am a widow. All of my contributions are gone. Second, my husband died suddenly at age 59. After working 43 years full time, a blue collar working, paying into Social Security all 43 years. Third, due to GPO, 2/3 of my "fat" pension is DEDUCTED from my survivor Benefit (my husband's SS) and that leaves, $768 per month. So, SS took my 25 years of contributions AND about 2/3 of my husband's SS--he who never lived to see a dime of it, he who worked his whole career paying SS. So, NO, many of us are not getting "fat" pensions. We live month to month on very little. Get educated!

Informative but there is one problem with your presentation. The Social Security Act specifically required the trust fund could only invest in Treasury Bonds. This was done because of the collapse of the stock market collapse. This was the mistake made at the very beginning. Louisiana Senator Cassidy has proposed legislation to fix this and to balance the trust fund, eliminating the future shortfall in the fund. He proposes investing in the stock market and bonds under the management and control of Social Security management. This is the formula used by all the public pension funds.

Yesterday I was approved for my disability, and got a whopping $10,000 check, was it because of Trump, I sure hope so!!

Always enjoy listening to your segments on WEP. There has been a lot of focus on WEP revision causing the trust fund to run out earlier. People are commenting about “not fair!” Please comment to listeners about how long the WEP added to the trust fund over the past 50 years of additional funds saved, by keeping people’s monies. Just seems fair to show the flip side of the coin.

If the Fairness Act is so unfair because it depletes the fund sooner then let those who paid into SS from other jobs that have a Civil Service pension be paid back what they paid in for years with the intrest SS earned from their payments. Then you would have a no one with a CS retirement involved in SS.....but the fund would still be depleted sooner because they SS didn't get to keep the free payments they took from CS since 1984. Fair is fair. You pay you get something in return that's fair or you ask for a refund if it's not.

So if it takes a year then, they will owe you 2 years retro pay! That probably means no lump sum, to avoid this they should have stopped deducting WEP and gpo, when the bill became law, what so hard about that, then they could have sent out letters saying or stating that your benefits will be adjusted until final amounts are determined, they're making it harder than it has to be,

Before a single dollar can be paid out, all of the Social Security software related to benefit calculation, payment and accounting has to be modified and tested. This will also include identifying every recipient who will be affected by the act. This is a big, time-consuming job regardless of who is in office. There is a lot of potential to screw this up if it gets rushed.

Yet the people on SSI ($967 a month) can barely afford a roof over their heads, nevertheless household items that are required (toilet paper, soap, shampoo, etc.). I think this is kind of hinky. How about an increase in in SSI so they dont have to panic just to pay rent.

I applied online for spouse benefits on 1/10/25, the online process would only allow me to file back to 7/24. I also indicated I had non covered employment and a pension from noncovered employment (IE GPO). On 1/23/25 I received back pay from 7/24 and regular payments will start in Feb. All payments reflected my previous quarterly Medicare payments. The only part that wasn't handled is the retro form 1/24 through 6/24. I would recommend you file as soon as possible since the online process will only let you file for 6 months in the past. My guess is they stopped applying GPO on new applications, but don't have the code to handle the retro time period prior to the six month limit.

What challenges does SSA face implementing the Social Security Fairness Act? SSA's ability to implement the law in a timely manner and without negatively affecting day-to-day customer service relies on funding. The Act did not provide money to implement the law. The law requires SSA to adjust benefits for over 3 million people. Since the law's effective date is retroactive, SSA must adjust people's past benefits as well as future benefits. Though SSA is helping some affected beneficiaries now, under SSA's current budget, SSA expects that it could take more than one year to adjust benefits and pay all retroactive benefits.

OK, I get it, those who quit a job that didn't pay into SSA but get a pension are only going to get SSA bennifit's if and when they had a conventional job which did pay into the SSA program. Where as before they didn't. That's a good thing, and I have no issue's with it because they did after all sometime's to a lessor degree did pay into it up to and sometimes over their 40 quarter's. But I'm only one of the several million who either lost their pension to an x wife and or never had a pension available, and insufficent income to have put some away in a different pension plan; Meaning I'm only getting the SSA Retirement bennifit and accept for the COLA, it never increase's. I understand those who qualify for a basically catch up to get caught up. But having both a pension and SSA bennifit's, they are far less prone to the cost of living alway's been higher than the dam figure's utilzed in the COLA adjustment, if and when there actually is one. There's countless video's on how those on SSI and SSDI and now those that didn't pay in are goinh going to qualify. But there's never anything for those of us who have paid in "WELL OVER" the 40 needed and then only receiving what we get when we get and never more. I worked and paid into the SSA for some 50 year's; Which work's out to be some 200 quarter's. And yet though it four time's as many as one need's. I don't get a penny more for the additional 160 quarter's I paid into the system. Then there's the issue in which my check is considered income when it come's to getting any of the various state's assitance program's. While those on SSI or SSDI who may get the same exact amount, isn't considered to be income and thus qualify for various state and local bennifit's that when having an income one doesn't qualify for. I'd be better off if I were to loose my retirement bennifit's, and have them replaced with either or both SSI and or SSDI bennifit because my bennifit's are considered income and their's is not. I'd qualify for a number of both state and local bennifit's for free, not a percentage if at all. I know of those on both and sometime either who get 100% total in any and everyway possible medical bennifit's. Where as I because of my supposedly income can only get the 80/20 the SSA program madate's unless living out side of the country; Which I do, when I can't afford the 20% co-pay in the U.S.A. and at my age and required number of year's as a legal permenent Resident of Mexico get total 100% free medical if and when hospitalized and for a minimum of 90 days's following any hospital stay. I can afford a normal American life style if living in one of the non-american barrio's aka neighborhood's in Mexico. Where as in the U.S.A. I'd be mandated to live in a shelter for the homeless.
