Trying to say The Sims was the first open ended, world creating, god game is wild. Sim City? The series where "Sims" takes its name from. Populous. Black and White. Rollercoaster Tycoon? Dungeon Keeper? Trying to say The Sims pathed the way for games like Minecraft, instead of survival, crafting RPGs, building games is just ignorant. Do a little research. Populous and Sim City came out in 1989. It spawned a whole genre of games that would lead to The Sims. Minecraft has very little to do with The Sims. The developer of Minecraft cites Rollercoaster Tycoon as an inspiration.
