The presumptive Republican nominee also claims that person will attend the debate on Thursday night. Hey @alanking6173, do you realize WHY the cost of gas was so low during Trump's second half of his term???? Because Covid was in FULL SWING and NOBODY COULD LEAVE DURING LOCKDOWN!!! You can't deny that gas, food and housing has all went up after 2021, and that's by design.. that's what they run on.. higher prices and higher wages. Although wages have actually gone down since 2021 if you factor in inflation.. all this has happened since 2021, not 2020.

Gas prices are more affected by how much other countries are willing to pay for petrol products than anything. Just so happens the rest of the world is paying top dollar lately. Oil companies are having record profits and have been for some time. They export most of the oil drilled for here, and our refineries have been at max volume capacity for years. They were $2.41 when Trump took office. 2.87 a year later, $2.94 a year later, and $2.32 in early 2020. These are national average prices of course. They climbed from Feb 2021-Feb 2022 which is attributed to ramping production back up from a major fall off in demand. Immediately after Russia hit Ukraine there was a $.60-.$70 jump, and we are back to where prices were just before that. Are you aware of how much money Biden made for the US Treasury when he sold the oil reserves to the oil companies for $90 a barrel and replenished the reserves at $65 a barrel? A boat load. Anyway, yeh we’re exporting a lot more oil and it’s affecting price. From less than half a million barrels per day (BPD) in 2015, exports reached 1 million BPD in 2017, 2 million BPD in 2018, 3 million BPD in 2020, and 4 million BPD in 2023
