The fact that Target let's people use the bathroom of the gender they identify with? Resisting temptation to make fun of someone because they're gay, or hold different beliefs than you? Trump is that different thing off the menu you can't pronounce and never tried. He's untested as a politician with no record of failure as one. He's a "wildcard", so we simply do not know what will come off the deck next. Except, the odds are that it will be better than a 3 lol. We did not have two ideal options to choose from, but I have no doubt the better of the two won and we should " just think good thoughts", wait and see then hope for the best :)

I encourage people to ask Trump supporters a) would you consider Trump's Presidency a success if he got the unemployment rate down to 5%? (in 2012 Romney promised he would get it down to 6%), and b) would you consider Trump's Presidency a success if he cut illegal immigration to 2006/'07 levels? I bet they will say yes, because I bet that very few will know that unemployment is already currently at 4.9% and that illegal immigration PEAKED in '06/'07 and has gone down about 15% since then!!! Trump's campaign wasn't run on facts - it was sheer demagoguery. No one who cares about facts could possibly have voted for Trump. 4 days after the election I have nothing but disdain for those who basically handed the keys to the family car to the 5 year old child.

There many factors to white people voted for Trump, but all leads to the same conclusion is that people didn't vote for Trump just because they actually believe this policy. It's has a lot to do with the fact that people were generally frustrated and angry at everything that has been going on all at once. An amalgam of things that led to people's decision, but now that the elections over most people are starting to think a little more clearly. Hell I almost voted for him just out of anger but I had to try to keep myself calm and remember the kind of person he actually is. But now it's time for people to actually calm down and reflect on if what decision they made was the right one.

I hope this comment gets more views and thumbs up. I'm Hispanic and I thought of voting for him for a moment when I saw the first debate. When he was talking about jobs leaving the country partly because of NAFTA (which she supported) and that she was already in the government for 20 years and had yet to address any of the issues she said she would fix if she were president, those were really good arguments. And policy does matter, but there is a lot to keep up with, so much that it's difficult to keep track. Even the DAPL only recently started getting huge amounts of attention. But yeah, I think a lot of people felt like they weren't being heard and he made them feel validated. I feel bad for the caller because I understand why he voted Trump, it's just that there are a lot of small things that came together so it's hard to explain.

Why is it that the only people complaining about political correctness are the first people who will usually say something out of their bigotry? And are usually white? Honestly there are people who take the white male hate kind of extremely but on a large scale the majority of them need to realize that the large majority of people who are speaking out about injustice aren't doing it just to hate on white males. People really need to take in consideration the facts of each situation. I mean do people who complain about political correctness even know what it is? Not being allowed to tell racist jokes? What is it?

Nice to hear the voice of sanity here. People who voted for HRC are willing to ignore the good of the country for their own special interests and biases. It is a documented fact that first and foremost HRC is a pathological liar. And that's only the beginning of the story. Hiding your face in the sand does not change the fact. You pride yourselves in being so educated and smart but you only deceive yourselves. Sheeple in the truest sense of the word. How outrageously pitiful you all are. Michael Haskins Sorry. I'm a liberal. PC is being used wrong in my opinion. People shouldn't go on the Internet and harass a person because of the race or religion. That is just not morally correct. As for the internet jokes, leave it to the comedians. At at time like this every Joe Blow thinks their funny when they're not. Granted the First amendment let's you say whatever you want. Just use good judgement because you mught have to endure the blow back. Why do ugly racial jokes online behind false screen names? If your proud put a real name and face to it; don't hide. I can't use my name anymore because if I leave any remarks like the one I did before I get racial slurs. It seems this society just can't talk to each other. As for the video to this comment section we don't condone it and hope that the kids get the book thrown at them.

Arlie Hochschild is a highly respected Berkeley sociologist. In her recent book Strangers in Their Own Land: Anger and Mourning on the American Right, Hochschild writes, "I discovered ... the profound importance of emotional self-interest---a giddy release from the feeling of being a stranger in one's own land." Policy goals are not the only reason -- maybe not even the only good reason -- people vote for a candidate. I voted for Hillary. Meanwhile, I am trying my best to understand why people were drawn to vote for Trump. To reach the greatest possible understanding, I find it is sometimes necessary to temporarily set aside any preconceived notions about why people do the things they do. Let me put that point differently. For many reasons, it is abundantly clear that voting for Trump was a bad idea. Therefore, if we want to understand why people actually did vote for Trump, we will have to venture, fearlessly and with eyes open, into the Forest Of Bad Ideas. To so venture would be a waste of time if we did not let the power of the Forest surprise and overwhelm us at times. Ours will be a perilous journey, from which we might return gravely altered. If we decide to take the journey, we must try to be as open as we can, lest our time be wasted there.

By the sounds of it, he was swayed by the anti-SJW movement who always complain about the vocal fringe of 'progressives', who are actually more in line with authoritative measures, hence regressives was coined. But he didn't broaden his scope on the subject nor critically analyze that they instead opened the floodgates to people who have extremist views, giving credence to right wing ideologues that would have normally been challenged, and general hypocrisy. Examples of hypocrites being Dave Rubin and Sargon of Akkad, who became quick to point out problems on the left but stayed silent whenever members of the right did similar, if not worse behaviour and attitudes. They didn't bother criticising brazen, factual incorrect viewpoints from people like Milo Yiannopolous, Candace Owens, Donald Trump and other taking heads that true liberals would have called them out on.

I don't agree with his ideas on immigration, political correctness (it started out as manners & respect), but I applaud him for his humility & decency as a human being in this regard.

It's nice that this 18 year old kid is open minded, but you can tell he has a difficult time developing a critical thought. Sounds like he went with his gut and not his head when he voted. Also, these questions were not that hard. "Is there a word or phrase that was politically incorrect that you'd like to use now?" Kid: "Uh... uh... whats a question? Uh... well yesterday for lunch I had a turkey sandwich and chips... and uh...."

Policies!! what's that? This is our typical Trump voter- As long as the catch- phrase fits on a cap, you have their vote anything longer you've lost their vote. This was painful to listen to. He wants to know what Trump is going to do in the Middle-East? I'd be surprised if he could find it on a map. Dave Pakman u r way too nice.

jfc that was depressing to listen to but very poignant and necessary. sure, his individual vote may have not swung Pennsylvania but then you realise the tens of thousands of voters just like that who voted based off of emotional disconnect rather than focus on policy and it's simply maddening.

And he's a student at the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League school! The bright side is, he's only 18 years of age and he's open minded...
