I read a book, imagine that 🙂, describing some socialistic programs of the late 50’s. Community pools were given as one example. This was before the Civil Rights Movement. These programs were widely accepted by the white community. However when the community pools were made to accept blacks, whites no longer wanted the pools. According to the federal Energy informations Association the national average price of a gallon of gasoline for the week of Jan. 18, 2021, was $2.38. The only time the national average gasoline price reached as low as $1.86 under Trump was in March 2020, at the very beginning of the pandemic, when demand cratered due to lockdowns and business closures.
