Depends on the state but I'm not sure if they have to be somewhat public during voir dire. 45 has to be able to be there. information has to be made available to his defense team. Typically, as far as I recall, that information isn't supposed to leave the courtroom. I was on a jury and the defendent was asked if he recognized anyone in the pool. Then he was given a list of all our names and addresses (might not have had house numbers but I don't know), and see if he recognized any of those. That's all required for voir dire. Having anyone leaking that information or having reporters in the room is stupid imho. Obviously none of the news companies can keep their mouths shut, describing nationalities and quotes from potential jurors. There are parts of this process that we are NOT supposed to be part of nor privy to. Just like reporters shouldn't even ask what our military plans are before they are enacted.

For what, exactly? The people who should be prosecuted are the ones who leaked the information about the potential jurors. The only ones who are supposed to have identifying information about those folks are the attorneys on both sides, and the defendant. I am completely baffled as to why Merchan's order would allow Darth Traitor to have that information, unless it's standard practice in that jurisdiction, and Merchan could not justify an exception to the standard practice without subjecting the proceedings to a finding of mistrial on appeal. He's being super-cautious to make sure that doesn't happen.

Just because someone is not a direct party to a particular judicial case, does not mean that they can't be charged with jury tampering/intimidation. Two things; 1. Jesse Waters can and should be charged with jury tampering. 2. No personal information of any sort about the jurors should be released

Well, they need to do that in order to exercise their right to assess the suitability of potential jurors. But I don't know why Merchan's order allowed Mango Mussolini to know the identities of the jurors. Maybe...in case one of them just happens to be someone the defendant knows to be hostile to him?
