The Supreme Court is sending this back to the lower court to decide if an attempted coup is part of a president's official duties. The lower court ALREADY decided that it wasn't, but will now have to hold hearings and go through the motions. If I was a lower court judge I'd send it back up to the Supreme Court and say "we already ruled UNANIMOUSLY that he's not immune, so WTF is your problem?"

If one assumes that Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election was, in fact, the result of mass electoral fraud, and that a fair counting of votes would’ve resulted in Trump winning reelection, then one could theoretically argue that his actions on January 6th were him _preserving_ democracy, rather than attacking it. Though of course, not only have Trump and his associates failed at every opportunity to provide any evidence to support such an assumption, but even if it _were_ the case, there were still a million better ways he could’ve gone about it than stirring up a vigilante mob to engage in a terrorist attack against the United States Capitol building.

@markphillips898 correct, the burden is on the prosecution, but if trump had the evidence that the election was stolen or any evidence to back him up in his cases whatsoever he has had hundreds of opportunities in all these cases to show that. He doesn’t have to “prove” innocence but he’s already been found guilty/liable for A LOT. Trump has done everything to delay the cases or get them thrown out. He could’ve prepped for the cases, coulda testified, and could’ve brought evidence but he did none of those things. He doesn’t have to “prove” he’s innocent in court but he certainly needs to if he’s gonna claim the jury is wrong. Also I’m literally in the legal field
