Can you still hit high notes on a big mouthpiece? I have a bach 3c and can't squeeze anything above a high F# (the one above the staff)

@@bobchu9719 I have a Bach 1C and can only play up to F# as well. Maybe squeeze out a G but with weak sound. Smaller diameter and shallower cup is easier for the high notes. If I go too shallow, the tone is sacrificed.

How did you increase your range? What kind of lip slurs and long tones?

@@Bernaardvark hi, I used to do a lot of loud long tones in mid register focussing on open sound. Range is random day to day, so I have no choice but to surrender to the given chops of the day. A few things to consider for open high notes are: ・Abdominal compression ・Oral cavity (tongue position) ・Aperture opening ・Mouthpiece pressure Hope this helps!
