What’s going on here then ? For many many years trumpf said they would not produce a bridge frame and c frame is best , for decades machines have been manufactured like that with no problems . This although a concept video looks far too complicated and many moving parts to fail . Also a engineers nightmare hope whoever is putting these is gets to be a expert. Good Luck

Dear Andrew, Thanks for your comment! Indeed, we do work with the C-frame since a long time and we still use it on our TruPunch 5000 machine, where it works just as well as you wrote. However, a few years ago, we introduced the TruPunch 1000 - our fist machine with a bridge frame. It has this bridge frame because we redesigned and revolutionized the machine’s drive: The TruPunch 1000 and TruPunch 3000 now have a drive called “DeltaDrive”. The DeltaDrive allows the punching head to move into different directions, so the sheet and the table don’t need to move along the Y axis. This saves a lot of space (the TruPunch 3000 only requires 30m²) and it makes the machine more dynamic. But, this DeltaDrive is from a technological and engineering perspective only possible in a bridge frame and not a C-frame, but because the DeltaDrive has so many advantages, we were ready to give up on the C-frame for these two machines and use a bridge frame instead. That’s what we call “form follows function”: If the machine concept works best with a C-frame, we use a C-frame, but in this specific case, the bridge frame makes more sense. All those who use the TruPunch 1000 and 3000 series are very happy with the machines and the way they are designed. They’re much more of an engineer’s dream than an engineer’s nightmare, we can tell ;) They are compact, productive and easy to handle. Speaking of easy to handle: The machines might look weird if you’re not familiar with the DeltaDrive concept, but because the sheet moves only along the X axis, the process is actually very reliable and easy-going. Plus, the machine has lots of different possibilities to unload parts (through a parts chute and a parts flap), therefore you don’t need to worry at all about failing parts - there’s no tilting with this machine. And you don’t need to worry about the setup process either, as always, experienced TRUMPF technicians take care of that. By the way, the machine is not just a concept, it’s up for sale and so far, going really well for the users. Why not visit one of our customer centers and give it a try? @@TRUMPFtube As a user of a Trumpf 200 (from new Y2000) and Trumpf 3000 (from new Y2006) www.vandf.co.uk/plant-list/trumpf-200r-3000r-cnc-punch/ I have always liked the single head approach. I have used turret machines in the past and felt the single head to be the best option as a machine became older for punch alignment. This concept does seem alien for a Trumpf machine. I have seen the Trumatic 1000 punch/laser combi in action at a open day and want to like it. Still not 100% convinced. I guess time will tell.

Dear Ray, we love to hear that you’re happy with our punching machines. And for the punching head, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered - because the single head approach in our punching machines is still there, nothing has changed about it. The main things that are different about the latest machines are the machine frame and the drive, we’re still just as happy with the single head approach as you are. The ram drive and the rotary axis are inside the punching head, so that every tool you want to use can be placed in the punching head and rotate 360° which allows you to create every shape you want with using only as many tools as necessary. That’s the TRUMPF approach, and it means no wasted tools, no wasted time. Just as you know it from your machines.
