Unlike every other class, shaman is good for one expansion, then becomes worse than before their peak expansion, which was unplayable as it is. Then you have the priest and paladin apologists who say shaman was broken for 2 years when it didn’t even last one year, and they say “b-but muh karazhan.” When they were still a tier 2 class at best on vS.

Shaman is going to be absolutely trash tier next standard cycle if they don't get competitive cards next Xpack. Evolve / Token Shaman has been the only viable archetype throughout the entire year of the Mammoth and it will be hit really hard with Evolve the spell and the Jade package rotating out. Shaman has received nothing but memes for 3 XPacks in a row now with the only class cards from the last 2 expansions that see competitive play being Unstable Evolution and the Death Knight and neither are core or a necessity to make an evolve Shaman deck. Edit: Honourable mention to the Shaman spellstone but I haven't actually seen anyone play it in standard so it can't be viable in this format though it is decent in Wild.

I just rolled a new account, and got Thrall as my DK... needless to say, I’m struggling to get ANYWHERE with any type of deck I throw together. On the flop side, I can actually win a lot MORE games with my makeshift Paladin deck, where I’ve only unlocked 1 basic card level by up (Truesilver). Yeah, mutation Shaman is garbage.

I'd be ok if shaman sucks for the rest of time. Because shaman was busted to a ridiculous level. It deserves to suck forever. I still get destroyed by fucking mid-range shamans in wild. Gotta love tunnel Trogg and totem golem and crackle and shit. I lost to a Karazhan shaman bot around the time Frozen Throne came out. Im gonna answer the question in the titel without even watching the video. I play token/evolve shaman because its fun and i get to have big legendary minions on the board that i dont have in my collection because i cant spent hundreds of dollars on the game to get them all. (not saying the game is p2w, just that to play with all the legendary and epic minions you have to buy hundreds of packs.(which you dont need to win games but you want anyway))

I prefer the overload ancestral giant combo. Been working pretty great from me around rank 5-6. Summoning 4 8/8s that re-summon themselves when they die turns out to be pretty good for 9 mana. Plus you take Umbra and the cubes and it ends up being pretty solid.

here's a tip. If the end turn button is green you have no actions left that you can do at all, but if it's yellow you have an action that you can do such as attacking.

Token evolve is still considered tier 2. I have favorable matches vs. Satellite priest and aggro pally. Pretty back and forth with tempo rogue. Against warlock just hoping to find hex/devolve for voidlord. And like with most decks hoping raza preist hits that 10 percent chance of not having an answer

At least in the past similar cards had the stipulation of ‘minions that died this turn’. As it stands CC either needs that same stipulation with some mana cost changes or a total rework.

IDK how good it actually is in the meta as my version is incomplete but the only deck I cant seem to beat late is the damn control warlock who seems to come back from one hp far too often.

I actually went from rank 15 to 10 with a variant of this deck and was rocking something like 85% win rate. It really isn't a bad deck and that being said, although there IS some bad variance in these games, there were some misplays too. For example, in the paladin one where i think it was just a straight misplay not to jade claws and trade away the turn before even if it would have overloaded and stopped the dopplegangster evolve turn 6.
