The Death Knights and Keleseth come to mind. I dont know about you, but I'd rather have a Tar Creeper than a Mindbreaker; same thing for Firefly and Wretched Tiller...

As someone who's played Zoo since beta, this meta feels like crap for me. The combo decks I have are all wild, and I've dumped so much dust into that that I have enough rolling to afford 1 aggro deck per standard cycle, and my choices are either A. Token Druid or B. Loselock, and I don't have fun winning w/ Token Druid (Do I have Blessing + 4 bodies t6? If yes, push for lethal, if no basically lose) and don't have fun losing w/ Warlock bc I can't find my Magic Carpet.

The problem is that, for the evergreen set, a look at it in the current meta doesn't do any good in any later expansion. With any of these re-reviews you can look back upon to see how the meta at the time progressed. A video over the basic set doesn't help much

The aqua force guy I disagree seeing how the classic set interacts with the current Sets is just as valuable in seeing how the meta progressed over time and is useful to understanding the game more throughly in its current state. There is also a huge benefit for new players to have an updated understanding of the relative power level of the classic set. Also it just seems like an interesting 30-60 minute video.

The problem with looking at cards in groups of "these all go in the same deck" is that the bad cards in those sets drag down the good cards, and vice versa. Like Ursatron is insane, 3 mana 3/3 draw a minion. But the other cards for mech hunter were insanely slow. Kirin Tor Tricaster is total garbage in a tempo deck because it makes your cards cost more, yet Mana Cyclone / Magic Trick / Ray of Frost mage was powerful even before giants got added.

But that's a problem with deckbuilding too. Cards always affect each others viability, so it makes sense to rate them together. Having a standalone 'good card' is pointless if you have no deck that can (afford to) run it. Ursatron might be insane, but he's also useless when there is no viable Mech Hunter deck to run it in.

It's here: drive.google.com/file/d/1bZsw_ArGemmjY51480ztzSbXeelobhb9/view?usp=sharing Fun fact, Trump's model (if we are to treat it as a model) has an r-squared value of 0.087, meaning that it accounts for about 9% of the natural variance of Hearthstone cards. In a hard science, that'd be pretty darn terrible. However, in psychology and other social sciences that's a pretty reasonable effect size, and given the complexity of a game like Hearthstone, I think that's a more fair comparison. EDIT: I made a mistake - the r-squared value is actually 0.3, not 0.09. Trump is way better at this than I thought!

Don't know if any decent reviewer does this, but a card should probably have 3 parameters. Something like synergy/probability of deck inclusion, design and "powerlevel". Powerlevel for cards like some hero cards would be "a card shouldn't have that much impact on a game" "beyond broken" "7 stars" etc pack fillers would be 1 stars. Design should rate name and image, effect of the card based on the "quality" of interaction and playstyle it offers, new good/bad mechanics/rng etc. Finally the one that trump does is predicting how much a card will contribute to the metagame analyzing its potential and synergies. From what I've seen every major personality just spits out his random opinion in a neverending video collection talking about fresh air.

At the beginning of the Rise of Shadow, I was hit with Bomb Warrior and drawing clustered bombs in a row making me snap craft Archivist Elysiana to burn all the bombs in the deck. Then Archivist got nerfed and Bomb Warrior suddenly not as popular anymore. I then disenchant Elysiana because I do not really want to play her ever.

I personally disagree with Trump's ratings for walking fountain and Hagatha's scheme. To start with, lowering their ratings just because of another control deck being better isn't rating the cards, it is rating the deck. Walking Fountain and HS both see play in another deck, which, by the way, is the current best deck for shaman. It has a more midrange style of play, which crushes warrior, while still running board clears for pesky aggro decks, meaning it is much better than control shaman. I know that Trump is only rating these cards based off of constructed play, but in Arena, WF is one of the scariest cards for shaman to have, and is the biggest reason it is one of the top 3 best classes there. I do agree with hagatha and witches brew though, not quite strong enough.
