Thanks, Max. Terrific. Would love to see your plum solution for the USB port to the trunk.

I do think there is a video for that, it was on the green Envy bike.

Your video gave me and idea for my 04 HG gl1800 smartphone and ipod connect in the trunk. I know I'm a bit "ipod" but it still works like a charm.

I’ve got the air-bag model and this is the holder for the iPhone (standard) - unfortunately the Apple 8 plus is too long for this holder (or it is difficult to attach the lightning cable when in the holder). I simply side the phone down pass the holder bottom and the phone seems safe and secure. I’m guessing you’ve attached the appropriate hook up’s for the bike informatic connections on the handlebars. For me having the phone in the trunk is the best as you can operate the phone completely from the bike’s system, no need to have phone handy - plus it’s a safe place to leave the phone (especially when you forget to take it with you! Or it rains...). I’d never leave it on the handle bars.

The screws that hold it on are longer, I found that out when I put a couple of dimples in that trim panel, as i was putting it back on and forgot to put the phone holder back in.

This should be the cell phone holder in the trunk on the airbag model: HOLDER, TRUNK 81133-MKC-A30

How much did the green paint job cost and did traxxion do it or did they send it out to be painted
@Traxxion2 жыл бұрын
We sent that out. The paint was $2500, not including the labor to dismantle the bike and reassemble it.

Max....I purchased a USB splitter that handles data and charger; however, the 2018 Wing doesn't detect it. Further research shows that a hub does not work. I have a 2018 Tour, manual and have the usb up front (IPOD), but would like 2 usb's in the trunk for cell phone charging. Did you use a factory harness in the trunk? Or how did you wire it. Thanks....P.S. Love the kickstand pad and dipstick extender! Keep up the great info.

I used the factory Honda USB Accessory cord for the left saddlebag, and then put a splitter on that.
@bobfredrick68545 жыл бұрын
@@Traxxion Ok that's what I thought. I have the factory USB coming for the back as well; so i will give that a try. Do you have a part number or name of the splitter you used? Is the splitter you used in the back for only charging? Maybe the one I bought won't work. My had blue ends, and I noticed the one you used was yellow. Thanks in advance.

@@bobfredrick6854 The cable has to be data and power specific. There are a couple I have used from Amazon. They tend to come and go out of stock, but you can find one easy.

On my 2005 I ran a charging cable up the handlebar and mounted a phone mount so I could use phone as GPS and use it to call out / answer hands free using Bluetooth with my Sena headsets... I have IPhone 7 with FRE waterproof case... cable allows me to keep phone charged.. if it isn't raining. If it is raining I unplug and Close cap on phone case... I also have the same thing in left rear passenger panel for wife's phone to charge while driving... plugs into battery tender plug I have there... she sits her phone in her pocket or the kuriakin arm rest bag. .. on the 2018 I believe honda removed those little storage compartments for the passenger... it would be good for the 2018 to have a phone compartment for the passenger with charging cable.. that is accessible to passengers while riding.... trunk mount is a no for me..that is one reason not to get the airbag model . or passenger... maybe utilizing the passenger arm rest mount area somehow... or attach under your grab handle offering...

I have a video on the cabling I did to put a cell phone and cable to the left bar, and the wife has an input that will come up right through the seat.
