Nice work, I like your sheetrock lift idea. I have always used the tie down straps as well. I have found using 4 Erwin quick clamps on the joists are faster than running screws in the joists, and they support the straps just fine. Great video, thanks for sharing.

Coming along nicely. Thanks for showing step by step -- it's a lot to film and edit but it's great instruction for us. Glad to see the hoist worked so well.

Chuck that is an outstanding idea. I install duct work my self and by myself. I use depending on the height of the basement I use either a 6' or 8' ladder to that I have add a plywood t-brace that is adjustable to within an inch of the floor trusses with the duct on top. Then to make up the inch I just bring the legs of the ladder together till the duct rests against the floor trusses. I call it my third hand, I have used it for many years. When your done with it just unscrew it and you have your latter back. I like your idea with the drywall lift cause you can start low and raise it up. Also before I forget it great demonstration on insulating duct. Now one on KZbin has even touched this subject. Keep up the great work as always, I enjoy watching all the main HVAC guys and learn different ideas to make my work better and faster.

Just found your videos. Nice work. Neat idea with the hoist. I too like to work alone. That way I know everything is done right and with the proper care. But sometimes helpers can be good. Even with the mundane things like unloading/loading/carrying things back and forth.

Pretty darn slick! I like it. Quick question-I noticed that there were spots where you could have used top take offs and kept your flex runs up inside the joist cavities. Just wondering why you didn't? Thanks.
@leonelramirez32315 жыл бұрын
Nice job. Why do you run exhaust and fresh air pipe from basement to roof. You cant come out the side of the house? Also what do you use to fram cielung boots. Were those drives or some special metal? Thx again for vids.

not hating on you or anything because you do good work 💯but you should add a little more tape to lay those pieces down and staple it too for a strong hold because the tape comes off eventually trust me lol

Good all days of hanging duck work. I remember when I first got into this racket I would do duck installations on new construction jobs like that. But that's pretty slick idea using that drywall hoist. For me I always had a helper and I would always hang 8 foot sections at a time. Just curious any reason why you didn't use top offs?

Do you have to insulate trunk line if your running it through the ceiling of a conditioned basement? I’m looking to replace existing fiberboard that’s been making me sick.
@williammarik61594 жыл бұрын
Nice work. I have to ask though, why are you insulating the basement duct ? Will this not be a conditioned space ?

@alexberger62464 жыл бұрын
Can you have a trunk that has two elbows in it, or is that a poor idea? In order for my trunk to run the entire length of the house, I need it to bend upwards and then the second bend puts it horizontally again, so it actually would be located on two floors. Would this work? Thanks
@martinwoods19216 жыл бұрын
You do great work, just wondering why you hire or have a helper...?
@myronsmith21146 жыл бұрын

@jasontimmons26425 жыл бұрын
It's called a duct jack
@theairconditioningguy8 жыл бұрын
That was really great how you used that drywall hanging machine. I used it once in a luxury hotel to hang a water source fan coil type system. I don't remember exactly, but it saved or back. Question :Did you say you were running a 8" duct to a 6x10 grille? Isn't that grille going to be noisy?
@ComfortPlusHeatingandCooling8 жыл бұрын
+The Air Conditioning Guy I will require around 125 to 130 CFM per 6x10 grill so that should put me in the 650 to 700 FT/min range for face velocity. In my experience thats a good balance between keeping the noise down and maintaining throw to get the air down from the ceiling. Thanks for watching!
@theairconditioningguy8 жыл бұрын

Nice work. Couldn't tell, do you use staples on the insulation or just foil tape?
@ComfortPlusHeatingandCooling8 жыл бұрын
+KEITHS AC Just tape. Do the staples seam to help?
@keithsac25428 жыл бұрын
+ComfortPlus Heating and Cooling I have never really seen it done with just foil tape. The staples (outward clinch type) make a stronger bond. Tape by itself may become loose over time with varying temperature conditions.
@shay0001118 жыл бұрын
How do you wrap the insulation on a rigid elbow? Do you have a special way to cut the insulation? Thanks
@ComfortPlusHeatingandCooling8 жыл бұрын
I don't know a good way lol. I usually take a piece of wrap as long as the back side of the elbow. Wrap it around and tape the center at the short side of the elbow. Then you can tuck or cut triangles of insulation away to make it as neat as possible. Thanks for watching!
