Truspeed controller vs RamJet x on Carrera digital

I used the cordless carrera controllers quite a bit, it can be done. My thumb starts seizing up after a lot of driving. I'm back full time on my Ram jet-x controller now, with long cord. They came with short cord when I bought it, long was extra. The guy who sells Ram jet is a good guy, the spring broke on my controller and he sent me 3 springs of different rates right away. No charge of course. I use the controller a lot and it works great! Easy to take apart and work on.

You could take apart the clear casings and spray candy colors on the inside. Solving the different color issues, plus having really sweet looking controllers.

I believe the brake button works best for the race start. Hold it down, and you can have your trigger already pulled and primed, then just realese the break button to get a quick jump response of the start.

Informative video thank you! I bought 2 ramjet controllers and really like them. Although even on lowest setting for me the springs are a little firm. Will replace with softer springs at some point. Also, for what it’s worth, I find it most comfortable and more precise to use my other hand to operate the lane change button. Keep up the great content. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺

Well that's me decided I'm getting an aftermarket controller then. Checked the prices in the UK and I think the Truspeed works out about half the price of the ramjet so I guess that outweighs the benefits of the better chord and handle texture and stuff.

My set came with 4 wireless Carrera's. I have no issues with them, and wireless is great. I also have a wired Ram-Jet X that works well.

I have the TruSpeed controller w/out brake for my Carrera digital system. The main difference I see is with the faster cars, adjusting the sensitivity helps calm them down when accelerating out of especially tight corners. My curiosity is satisfied and although more toy like the stock controllers aren't that bad (my opinion). Happy slotting.

Hi again! i got my Truspeed and Ramjet Controller. But before telling you what i think, can you tell if you had issue with the truspeed controller? I got it 1 week ago but since 3 days, with only this controller connected, the car will move by itself without touching the controller. When this happen, if i press the brake button, nothing happen, the car still move. I can accelerate but when i release the trigger, the car move at slow speed?? Playing with the sensitivity knob doesnt stop it.. I need to disconnect the controller or sometime the car will stop itself (Sorry for my english, i'm from Québec )

I have no problems with mine. Sounds like maybe you got a bad controller 🤔. Sorry to hear that

@@garageofslotcars He does it sometime. ANyway, my answer to the best controller.... I need to say that i would buy another Ramjet-X.. DUnno if its the same with your carrera cars but with my sCX digital (with 4 differents scx motor tested), its so much easier to control the cars with ramjet. With the TruSpeed, its like all the power of the car sit at the very end of the trigger travel. After 5 6 laps, i find the sweet spot but with the Ramjet, it just feel natural immediatly. Its probably due to the configuration of the pads of the Ramjet. The truspeed feel more high end in my hand , trigger is smooth but that doesnt translate to better control!!

I forgot!! I really like the screw adjustment behind the Ramjet trigger to limit travel over the feature of a brake button. Its cool to manually put a junior mode for new people trying out your slot car ;) Also, i use it to limit my trigger travel when racing without magnet on a tight track. It really help lap times!!
