In the last joint d.. 10. 39 is compression so it is negative but in this it is positive.??

at 5:43 why is FCD not negative. Since the joint is D, wouldn't a force moving towards a joint be compressive and therefore negative. Pls help

Yes.. its is negetive when you do not show the direction. Here arrow gives the direction so it is not negetive.

if the value comes positive then it is tensile and will go away form the joint and that will be the direction

On X-axis v should take cos and on y-axis sin, on resolving dt force v vil get both sin n cos, while v r calculating F(x) v vil take cos, while calculating F(y) v take sin... Dts it

"cos60" is the perpendicular distance between the force 10N & point A.... Bcoz 10N is a vertical force.... Your ans will be crct if the force would have been horizontal..

Fcd ki value aai thi -ve me but Joint D me Fcd tha -ve of x-axis then eventually {-ve × -ve} makes +ve which makes Fde a tensile force.

@@kushal333 For me tension is always stretching the member out and the compression is pushing it in, but he has done it inverse, also my instructor did this, I don't know if I may be wrong.

Beo at 3:50 Fab is in (-) and it is compression so sign is towards the joint but i am not understanding that why he aroow in E is towards E because if we calculate Fea from joint E than it gives positive value thus it should away from joint E cause it is tensile.. I am not getting it?

Its not about axis. Your cos and sine components depends on where you take the angle. If angle is with x axis than cos is in x axis... if with y axis than cos is with y axis.
