Bruisers have become such a nonsensical problem in this game over the years. Build just 1 damage-ish item, then go full tank and you are literally unkillable but still 3-4 shot a squishy. Absolute nonsense.

The reason this is a problem is because Riot has no idea how to make top lane viable, so they just keep making the champs that play it ungodly monsters, who still struggle to carry

@@1Beastieee After roughly 10 years playing this game (almost) nonstop, in my opinion the reason goes more in a "interest" direction. Riot simply doesn't care about balancing the game for us mid-low elo scrubs who bring nothing to them other then the occasional skin purchase (which you usually get for free anyway through the chest system), they are way way past caring for numbers in their game or our money. If they cared about it they would do what Second Dinner is doing with Snap, yet they don't. They only do it for Challenger and Pro Leagues, and there are 2 simple reasons for that: 1- That's were they make most of their money (events, streams, merch); 2- For players at that level the game is their job, they can deal with anything individually and/or as a team, and they usually don't even play what we consider "op" (the evergreens that smash low elo: Yasuo, Yone, Yi, and so on). Most of the times when we call something "broken", it's just something we are not good enough to deal with, and rightfully so because 1- It's not our job; 2- We can't put in the time to get that good. We (low elo scrubs) are not the targets of their product, we are the product that they move around their network of streams, ads, events and merch. That's the reason everything in League is free.. When a product is given to you for free (think of any social media), you are the product.

While I get what you mean, liandries over roa would have helped here tremendously. Roa is mostly defensive and Zhonia's as well. The only mostly dmg item is Seraph's but even that's meant for scaling and super drawn-out fights. Yeah, it worked out great in early to mid, but seeing as you have two front liners + someone that can resurrect, I doubt the tankiness for dmg tradeoff worked in your favour. But that's just my take, can't really say much as I don't play Anivia.

While I agree that Liandries would've helped a bit more here for sure, the item does not function fully the way it's intended to. Tanks have way too much HP these days and Liandries really needs to do more percentage max HP to be effective (currently does 4% over 4 seconds which is pitiful). I have played Anivia with Liandries against a high HP Sion and he was legit standing in my ult, tanking all my abilities, and was healing. Most tanks will also buy an MR item which requires us to get a Void, or they also have shields which requires us to get Shadowflame, or they heal a ton and requires us to get Morellos - basically my point here is that mage's item selection/build path is very mediocre when dealing with high HP/high MR champs and we're required to get items that don't allow us to deal with them whilst still being an effective damage dealer - at least this is what it feels like from my perspective. I hope this all makes sense ^^

Looking at how long alot of the fights last, Liandry's and Demonic should be doing significant damage with Morello decreasing their self-sustain aswell Their MR won't matter and the only drawback is having less burst against their squishies, which your team had enough burst for anyways. Yes its slow, but its better than trying to get through with magic pen when they have that much hp (and selfheal)

@@KPlol ​I wholeheartedly agree that tanks/ bruisers are a problem (as a D1 adc main). Somehow are unkillable yet deal dmg on par with an adc/apc or even more. Void is definitely the better choice here as I believe it outclasses Shadowflame when enemies have over 55 mr (which is 3 more than what practically all champs have as minimum at lvl 18) I believe (granted you have at least 2-3 AP items first). And yes, the 4% is very little (though you also get AP scaling on that dmg AND it has another passive that deals 0-12% dmg based on targets bonus health), but with an AOE ult and three tanky members on the enemy team (counting thresh sorta as well). It should at least out dmg roa. Yeah, there will always be times when it'll feel like you tickle the enemy tank, but as long as you don't die sooner due to less survivability, then Liandries should deal more dmg. Now don't get me wrong. You build the item first no way knowing that Udyr was going to be the problem and it doesn't help either that Ezreal went for Duskblade Essence Reaver build. Would it have made a difference? Can't tell. Maybe, maybe not. It's just some backseat observation on my part and things I say cause I watch from the sideline and are not actually in the moment. Just what I would have done with the game knowledge I'd say I have (which is something subjective as who's to say I'm right in everything) But yes, mage item selection / build path is definitely not great, though, if I may (biased as you might think I'd be), I would argue that ADC's have it even worse. Apart from EZ, there are not many ADC with flexible build paths without being outshined by their most optimal build. Build an executioners item on an ADC (except again ez), and see their dmg plummet. Morello's is not much better though I think they give the user slightly better stats than the adc items. But yes, mages too have this same very issue

I'm bad at anivia but I like to throw my ult out with roa whenever i get low. Just encase someone 1 shots me. Even just as you're walking around if you can afford the mana cost. :D
