Does it? Or does it temper "This Will Be the Day" This Will Be the Day is largely a celebration of what's in store as warriors are born from the small and helpless children. While this intro seems to be a tempered realization that the day they've waited for (changing the status quo) won't actually be coming. As such, trust to the bonds made and push forward with the strength you have.

You know it’s been now six years since I followed RWBY as a series. This openings already seeing the characters grow up and age the same age I am is so breathetaking. It’s like when a show that I follow does that to me it’s like I grow up with it. Seeing the new character designs was both nostalgic and make me realize oh my God, I’m a full grown young adult, while the main characters are all young adults like me now. This is my favorite intro it feels like a breathe of fresh air over how well this series progressed for me.

They're essentially just making up their plan as they go along now, have no clue as to how they're going to even potentially accomplish their end goal, and are stuck without their best hope for making an effective plan because he's locked himself away, most likely in a heavy state of depression and grief due to his own personal failures caused by a fate which was unfairly thrust upon him. After dealing with all that for a whole volume I think it's time for a bright spot in their story.

I love how this song is an inverse version of 'This Will Be the Day.' The first opening talks about rising and achieving your dreams while this one says that the day they waited for won't come, but the will still will be able to achieve what matters most if they trust love and believe in themselves, and even going as far to say that just believing alone is all that is needed for them to have a good life. This show has come so far, and I look forward to seeing what other meanings 'Trust Love/Open Up Your eyes' has for the volume!

I remember watching my first RWBY episode in the 6th grade, back then only Volumes 1 and 2 were out. Now I’m a senior in Highschool freaking out about the second episode of Volume 7. RWBY has really helped mold my life; the lyrics of literally any song from this show’s amazing discography have either some sentimental value to me or have helped me through hard times I’ve faced while growing up. So between "But in time through love your power will shine" and "when we trust in love and we opwn up our eyes" this whole love thing is in reference to silver eyes right? As well it talks about a "romantic life" and a "world full of charm" well we've heard that imagery in This Will Be The Day (I don't remember if that's its name or not) "You want a romantic life, a fairytale that's full of charm" which was how Ruby saw the life of a huntsman (romanticised as a great hero to conquer the evil), but now she's living as a huntress and she knows it's not like that. As well we hear about "Hoping that a lightning bolt, is gonna save you from this gravity" well again in This Will Be The Day they proclaim that "We are lightning" so is this a slight at the rest of the civillians that are just waiting for someone to rescue them instead of rising up? I dunno that's just what I came up with while listening to it on repeat haha

This song hit me really hard now that I know the lyrics. My now ex-girlfriend met and bonded through RWBY and she cheated on a few months ago. While I love her still, this song tells a story of wanting answers, and dreaming everything fixes itself. Right now I'm in despair, lost, and not sure what do, trusting those who do still care and love. I don't need to dream or hope for a miracle to bring things back to normal. Jaune does definitely not look the same! But yeah, I don't think any of the new designs are bad. Just prefer the old ones. Blake with short hair is definitely gonna take a looooong time to get used to for me, but hopefully I'll get used to it someday. It gives her a more cute vibe, which is completely different from how I saw her, but I'm curious as to wether or not they have reasons to change their looks, or was it just done on a whim completely outside of any story revelation. To me, the most world moving change was Jaune. I just could not believe it when I saw the intro.

This opening feels incredibly hopeful and I'm here for it. It cheers me up so fast Casey did a great job! Hopeful on the edge of nostalgic even some of you have compared to the prior volumes and rightfuly so, the opening does show the characters development after all.
