Amidst 2 years of a deep depression, Billy is alone for several days in the Alaska wilderness. With nothing to do but reflect, study nature, and pray incessantly, a moose cow and her yearling calf "speak" to Billy in such a way that instantly brought peace, purpose, and hope into his life. The Hold Gospel of Jesus Christ

Billy, I can totally relate. I spent 12 years of my life with who I thought was the woman I was going to grow old with. Turned out I was more in love with her, than she was with me. I made the decision to leave. Unlike you, I spent 10 years questioning my decision. At times, thought about putting a gun in my mouth. It just dawned on me one day, I was doing better for myself and my family without her.(wish it was a trip to Alaska to make me realize it) obviously don't know the woman, but I'm sure it was her loss. Keep doing the things your doing.

Hi Billy, I am a Christian, and would say from all the episodes i have watched of your guiding, there is no question that you are on the right path! I have done a lot of hunting in Saskatchewan, Canada! i agree with you, saying that most people are not out there to harvest meat, but to be closer to nature and learn a little more about themselves.I have experienced a few deep valleys in my life too. Trusting in the Lord has brought me the joy that is available to all of us. Please keep doing what you are doing. Your videos are excellent! Even though i am 71 years young, and maybe won't be heading to Alaska to hunt, i have learned so much about the beauty and majesty of that place! Thank you! Doug

You sir are my inspiration I one time had your dream but I went the other way and married the girl next door and I love my wife of 45 years but I have never made it into Alaska and I am sorry for that. As far as the suicide thing I was there too but if God is in our lives you loose the feeling in time. Faith will bring you peace if you trust your Father .

Billy, I wait for your personal weekly devotions. I thank you for sharing. Outdoorsmen in tune to their surroundings and quarry see things in a different light, plus find comfort there in the opportunities of the pursuits. As I have watched wild animals for over 43 years, there is no worry in their lives but to live, to survive, to thrive, and to breed till death finds them through natural mortality. There is a lot of noise many can tune out and learn from the ways of the wild! Keep worshiping the Creator and enjoy His creation. Keep bringing it, Billy!

I just recently started watching your videos and I’m so proud to see your “evolution” to a deeper relationship to Jesus Christ. The Journey just begins with Him. Press into his Holy Spirit and let Him guide you into that deep relationship. I have been hunting for 50 years and all those times pale in comparison to Him. I only subscribe to two channels and one is yours. I jfelt impressed by God to encourage you.

Billy, I came across your videos the other day…I love your hunting videos! I too live in a very rural area. I’m at minute 46 in this video and I told myself the next time the FedEx or UPS man comes I am going to step outside my comfort zone and tell him Jesus loves him. It wasn’t two minutes and my dogs started barking and heard some rumbling through the woods and here came the FedEx truck. I literally laughed out loud and said “Okay God!”. It was a different driver that I never saw before. I won’t lie, it was difficult/scary to do but I told him as he was walking off…”hey, I just wanted to let you know Jesus loves you!”. He laughed and said “Jesus loves you too!”. Thanks Billy for allowing yourself to be used by God. Love you man! Tom

Thank You Billy, I have strayed from God for a long time after loosing my wife to cancer at 44 and then 15 years later loosing my oldest son to a work accident. I was very angry and depressed but I am retired now and living alone in northern Michigan and with the solitude I am finding my way back. I watch a lot of your hunting videos but just came across this one and sir you have made me realize just how blessed I am and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being "the man with the sun in his heart". You helped me greatly in my journey back to the Lord our God. God Bless you and your beautiful family. If I was 20 years younger I would love to book a hunt with you but I'm afraid my health would prevent that now. God Bless and stay safe.

If there is anyone out there right now struggling with depression or anxiety. Take if from someone who knows, prayer is the answer. I was in the deepest pit of darkness. My live was over. I was winding down, giving up, when I finally called out to my God, Lord and Savior Jesus. It was still a long hard battle. But, had I not turned to Him, I don't think l'd be here today. Thanks for the encouraging words Billy. I still need that from time to time, especially these days. My prayers are going to you and yours. And special prayers for anyone going through struggles like depression. God bless. Love.

I enjoyed hearing your testimony and trials of depression and faith. I've had those myself. I enjoy hunting and being in nature. Love the verses you shared from Psalms and Philippines. I dream of Alaska and all it's grandeur, of it's vastness and rugged unconquerability (if that's a word). I also can relate to needing to trust the Lord in regards to politics and the state of our country. Also in regards to my children. I had to be reminded that God picked the times that we would be born into, it's not random. Praise Jesus and I'll pray God blesses you. Thanks. Your brother in Christ. p.s. Would love to hunt with you in Alaska some day.

I've been thinking about this for awhile now. There's a christian song I just heard called come what may that speaks to what your saying. It's like you said that young moose doesn't worry about weather it's going to be eaten or what it will eat, it lives it's life and keeps moving forward. Yes I feel closer to Him on a mountain top or in a swamp. Just love what He's created for us to enjoy.

Billy, love you hunting and other videos watching them all. As an old fat guy living in a cabin in Alaska, I find myself wishing I was there hunting myself. As a Christian for the last forty years and while making LOTS of mistakes, I've also learn a thing or two. With the alcohol subject I have found at the very LEAST, it's a lousy witness to a lost and dying world as well as supporting a hellish business which keeps 30 million people addicted and dying from their product. As you grow in Jesus, you will start feel the displeasure of the Lord whenever you drink or go into a liquor store. I don't say these things in self righteousness as was drug addict and drunk for a number of years. Again, really like you hunting videos, especially the brown bear. Hope to take one before the clock runs out but he will have to come to me! lol Have had browns at my front door over the years and hope it happens one more time..........................Ps Your the kind of guy God can use mightily as time is running out for this world......................In Christ. Patrick

20 years ago I went through similar depression. Outwardly my life was great, but inwardly self doubt created spiraling depression that was only relieved by the grace of God and the wonderful people He put in my life. I would love to tell you I’ve never experienced it again but that is not true. Whenever I get caught up in the world, the devil shows up and leads me down a horrible emotional path. Thankfully God is always there with me. I lean into Him and low and behold He picks me up. He is always there. He always has the right answer. He always fills my heart with what is truly good. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Billy for these. So good. Such great reminders mixed with awesome stories. God is awesome.

"There's a race of men that don't fit in, A race that can't stay still; So they break the hearts of kith and kin, And they roam the world at will. They range the field and they rove the flood, And they climb the mountain's crest; Theirs is the curse of the gypsy blood, And they don't know how to rest." Excerpt from poem by Robert W. Service. I believe that many people go outdoors to seek purpose. I had often felt I didn't quite fit in at an early age and often spent many hours outdoors and with my dogs. I like people and have friends but even today I still seek solitude in the outdoors to sort of reset and get close to God through Creation. This poem reminds me of that. Being on a faraway mountain top struggling with a trip can really make you appreciate life at home and all your blessings. Thanks for posting Billy, I know your heartfelt testimony will help many people in a lot of ways.

Billy I believe you have just told my story in a round about way!! I’ve watched most of your hunts and I’d be hounded to be a client one day!! I have a cousin that guided up there in the late 90’s early 2000. Not sure who it was for but he raised 1/2 wolf 1/2 something else to help pack out. Only the females could go as the weren’t as heavy and could pack 50lbs of meat!! I’m not a god searching man and I’ve experienced and felt the same way!! I don’t pray ever or ever ask for anything but for some reason eventually life turns around. I chalk it up to guardian angels. Spelled wrong!! Or a high power of sorts. But I s funny cause I’m in a slump and this video pops up!! Hun Merry Christmas!!

Billy, I firmly believe that your depression was spiritual warfare direct from satan. God knew that you would be the teacher, evangelist you are today. Well, he and his angels told satan told that you would be a fisher of men, and the last thing he wants is a faithful, effective man of God. Your faithfulness is a true inspiration to me. I would love to share a sheep camp with you any time. if not in this world, we will, for sure, share one with Jesus on a future day. thanks !
