Modern Day Mountain Man

Modern Day Mountain Man

Күн бұрын

As hunters, first and foremost, we are students of nature. Every day spent afield we observe and study the animals we hunt, and the environment in which they live. Even during the most violent storms and under the harshest conditions wild creatures never panic. They have no worry or indecision. How is it that nature maintains such tranquility?
When faced with the storms of life, we humans rarely respond with the same ease and peace. Though this process is often painful, if we seek Jesus, He will lead us, and often carry us through our hardships.
Join Billy Molls around the campfire for this Christian hunter devotional.

Hi Billy, i have been going through the same thoughts in whats going on in this world. My wife told me why i was in such a bad mood all weekend. I was letting the worlds problems eat at me. I know God is in control. I had to dive back into gospel this morning to get back on track. Truthly had to apologize to her. I hope others can get back to God and realize Jesus is the answer...Thanks for the words.

Billy in this time of COVID, with closed churches, you have an audience that is eager to learn! The lessons you bring from the world hunting and nature, transitioning to lessons we can learn to help walk through our lives speaks to me and encourages me to share these videos with other hunting friends! Remember my friend, we are here for an infinitely short amount of time, in light of eternity! What we do with the bit of time we’ve been given will impact others throughout eternity! The most incredible gift we’ve been given is time! Thanks for using yours to make an impact!

Hey fella - just stumbled across this today. Great message from the soul - nothing but deep honestly, humility and passion. Keep on keeping on - you certainly have a knack for what you're doing. I will add a few memories to our story - we shot a total of 7 rounds with 6 finding their mark. With regard to the big guy that you spotted from camp on day one in torrential rain and hurricane force winds, we actually geared up and started to pursue him, but only for about a 100 yards from camp before you called it off in fear the swirling winds would find their way to the salmon hole he was occupying. When we did get on my boar, I have two more distinct memories - when you gave me the go to come up on the knoll where you had him spotted and I couldn't find him, you grabbed my barrel and pulled it 30° to the left and said there he is! Lastly, after we emptied our weapons and we were pretty confident he had expired, I turned on my headlamp.......and then you said, "well, if he's not dead you've given him our direct location! Stay true to your calling Billy - still holding out for an encore as some point.

I've been greatly enjoying all these episodes in their entirety, brother, and personally relate to soooo much of what you said over the last five weeks, mainly the the spiritual growth stuff. I too, as a wide eyed young boy of about 8 years old in the late 60's/early 70's, almost daily wandering the big woods of northern Vermont always with gun in hand, dreamed incessantly of someday heading off to "The Great Land" to be a big game Guide and to drink deeply from the endless well of hardcore Alaskan adventure - but for whatever reason, never did. God had different plans for me, and I have learned that His plans are ALWAYS better than our own! I believe you're on the correct path Billy, even though everyone's own walk with Jesus doesn't always seem as direct and/or expedient as we would sometimes prefer. I see in you someone who is growing in the right direction in Christ, who wisely knows where his greatest source of strength is found. Despite the bleakness all around us, remember that He's still on the throne - always has been and always will be! Praying for you and your family. Will be ordering your latest DVD's very soon; b-day gift from my wife and boys to me : ). Wishing you and yours a truly blessed 2021!

Hi Billy, listening from Australia, love the sentiment. Need more wood or light for night time sermon. God has a beautiful creation in the earth that we hunt in, its the thing we cherish more sometimes. I have never been where you have, but I follow what you say, our Lord Jesus Christ is the ultimate man's man. Simple, strong, silent when needed but sound in speech when needed. Keep it flowing our way Billy, the world needs more of your type of man. Thanks.

Amen brother, I can't wait for this storm to end! I live in Oregon and work in Portland for a law enforcement agency. It has been a hard year to say the least. Hard to have faith in humanity with what I've seen going on. It struck home with me when you said, basically don't think you're going to get joy from politicians or government figures. I think that was the jest of it anyway. That is definitely a set up for failure if you're counting on that for happiness. I feel a lot of anger for many reasons but I'm trying to learn from these videos what it is to be a christian. I went to church when I was younger and at one time claimed to be one but I'm not sure that was ever really true. I guess just by me saying that means it's probably not. At any rate it must be a wonderful feeling to have that faith that God will lead you through these times and everything will be okay. I know I'm simplifying and didn't word that well but you probably get it. This ministry does speak to me though and I'm trying my best. Thanks.

Thankya kindly Billy, this ole world is upside down. Rev15 says to learn and know Deut:32. It is life for us. God is only allowing this because we are whoring after the ways of the World, most are. The Evils of the Governments he is allowing, there tribulation. But his Arrows when they fly will not miss, his Tribulation. He kills and he gives life. Their foot shall slip in due time, but" he is allowing this for a reason. Jesurun waxed fat and kicked. Great fireside service, perfect for the day n times. Love the Song of Moses, our victory Song👊, have a blessed day and thanky kindly

Billy thanks for your ministry. I was happily married with 3 great kids when one day my wife left with the kids. We were a Christian family and we're very part of our church. She didn't leave because of the normal reasons like drunken mess, or an affair, or drugs etc. To make a long story short, I as a father drop the ball. My family was number one in my life! Because of that I didn't see what my wife was thinking. It of course deviated me. I really had a hard time hanging on. It took time for God in Jesus name to get the point across to me that Jesus has to be Number one in our lives. I wasn't praying with my wife and Satan slipped in with his lies. It so important for us father's Andy husband's to pray daily with our wife, and kids individually! Directing them to Christ Jesus and growing close to him together is the greatest thing we can do for a strong family. It doesn't take a genius to see Jesus is coming any soon for his kids. There is no time to waste, we need to share the gospel message each day! And we need to stay Close to our Lord and savior Christ Jesus. Billy your doing a great job and I'm keeping you in my prayers.

Billy, I've watched your youtube hunting vids . But wasnt sure about watching trust the guide series. I'm not born again as you say , but find this series interesting.. I find most Christian's believe having "things" , worldly possessions ,makes you a lesser person . Some could argue spending a lot of money on an alaska hunting trip is selfish and that the money could of been spent helping people etc. At what point is it fair to do both? Help people and spend on yourself . I'm just making a point here . I went to christin scholl and have talked with a few pastors of various denominations and feel there is a lot of hypocrisy in what they say and what they do which has turned me off from let say goi g to church . I do appreciate your candor and being fra k in your opinions and beliefs. I believe you deliver well.
@RatdogDRB

God doesn't need your money. He doesn't want your money. God wants your heart, and a close friendship with you. If you're walking with God, after having already asking Him to forgive you of your sin and to live within you, and to guide you... talk with Him as you would a friend about your plans. If you're at peace, move forward. If you're not at peace, ask Him to help/guide you. Money is a tool that man uses. God may put you in contact with ONE person (during your travels/hunts) who is in desperate need of their contact with you as you share Christ with them. If God has your heart, He'll guide you in how to use your money best... because you'll be finding yourself wanting to please Him. As for hypocrisy... if you allow a hypocrite to come between you and God, who's closer to God, you, or the hypocrite? My point? I don't seek anything from a church, but whether my soul/spirit has been fed. God directs pastors to feed the sheep. A true pastor/church will be more interested in helping you with your walk with Christ than to be finding out how much money you will put in the plate.
