Bloods didnt get a lot of shine because cats was sleeping on them. And Crips was bigger. Bloods in the 80s was hard as fuck, but the Crips was deep and getting all the press time.

It's funny that you mentioned that because the way the movie ended, one would imply that there would've been a sequel, due to the fact that Pac- Man now had a black partner.

I was in the 4th grade when colors came out. We didn't know shit about gangs til colors came out. Gangs were just spreading across the west coast and then throughout the country. Colors actually promoted gang culture throughout the country imo

I'm east coast, I saw the movie at the theater and didn't realize that there was a huge gang problem in LA. We thought they was living like breaking (Turbo n Ozone) Ice T n King T was out however we didn't hear NWA until 89. So we was just learning about Crops n Bloods, funny shit a couple of months after the movie came out we had 2 Bloods from Inglewood move to our town, in my hood n almost got the hole hood to wear red! Almost! 25 yrs later others showed up n now there's Bloods n Crip sets in my hometown in Pennsylvania

Colors did the opposite for me, first being from Brooklyn I was scared as hell to go to Los Angeles 😂. The movie didn’t break down why blue was against red and where it all started. I didn’t understand the gang culture until I met a real Crip from Compton when I moved to Miami in 2007. Then of course Street Gangs Alex and brothers like Kev mac. How can i forget I always loved to read and a friend of mines had Monster Kody book, that book i was like yeah am not going to Cali 😂but by then it started spreading.

You know a fun fact ...."Colors" was supposed to be a Chicago "Lean" movie.....Well did you know "New Jack City" movie made by Barry Michael Cooper....was supposed to be based on Detroit's drug brothers "The Chamber Brothers" & before the storyline location was supposed to be Detroit...not New York City ....."Nino" was based on "Larry Chambers" the sinister older brother that ran the organization....So the next time you watch "New Jack City" now you know its based on The "Chamber Brothers"..... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
