Idk, if Aerith doesnt survive somehow then what was the point of "being able to change fate" so heavily emphasized on both part 1 and 2. Sepiroth says new worlds are created every time a fate changing decision is made. So is not that its a separate timeline but separate worlds are created that coexist at the same time as the world they branched from. So far in the game there have been several fate changing decisions made that in theory have created multiple worlds coexisting at the same time as the main one. So maybe its possible for Aerith to unite the worlds into one at the end and reunite with the main world. Even Zack says "Who's to say they cant be united". Whatever the end is, even if it ends like the OG i cant wait for the last part game is a masterpiece haven't had such enjoyment and attachment to a game in a long time. Deserves GOTY

The only problem with this theory is that it makes the story pointless. By purposely changing the reunion to a reunion of worlds but it’s all just the lifestream and peoples dreams and giving players hope that they can change fate but only if they die is not amazing. You might as well of just kept OG, no Zack, no Biggs, no Gilgamesh storyline. I propose the red herring is making people think that lady in Cosmo canyon was right and it’s all in clouds head and the lifestream.

I think most people are missing a few things about the lifestream that have already been established it goes in depth in the novels especially the lifestream white and black parts they kind of explain what super aeirth n black whisper sephiroth are doing partly and how it works sort of without giving us the whole story or picture of whats going on now... it explains when you die n go into the lifestream you basically get sucked into the lifestream and lose your physical body your memories and everything that makes you yourself along with your personality and physical form.. just how aeirth lost her white materia because the whispers were taking her memories from her its like that but on a way bigger scale.. it explains when he dies in og sephiroth feels his spirit beein pulled apart and losing all this and he separates part of his spirit into clouds memories sephiroth has to use cloud as an anchor to keep himself from being merged with the lifestream and losing himself fully and use clouds and other peoples memeories to remember and manifest his self and form n he needs to make sure cloud doesn't forget him its the only way he can still manifest his physical body and not fully die.. if zack was dead he would have no way to manifest himself everything in the lifestream is one sephiroth says so when explaining to cloud in chapter 14.. if you read the lifestream black and white it may clear this all up.. aeirth can still manifest herself because shes cetra and in this remake series maybe shes not fully dead or fully merged with the lifestream yet.. i think cloud may of saved her when he blocks masamune and we see what looks like a new timeline being made where she survives but just not the main one we're in.. she also says thank you i seen what you did back there when she turns up in the end fight before 'disappearing'... sephiroth was culling her from all the timelines and says right at the end he underestimated her n i think thats because she managed to stay alive somewhere when cloud saves her and by looks of it she's also running around saving zack from dying by switching his timelines n puttin him in a safe one at the end for time being just like she did end of remake... i have no explanation for the aeirth at the end with cloud though its either jenova or clouds mind or aerith speaking to him thru his memories like sephiroth does or in spirt form through the lifestream

My theory on why Zack was brought into the canon story: 1. All the worlds Zack lived in (and was transported to) are a series of "lifestream branches" created since the first disruption of 'fate' from the ending of Remake. These lifestream branches were created by both Sephiroth and Aerith separately. Sephiroth called it 'worlds', Aerith called it 'dreams', but they are referring to the same thing. 2. The fact that Zack & Cloud teamed up versus Sephiroth happened during Rebirth (rather in the 3rd installment), implies that Zack has an even more important role in the 3rd installment. But what could that possibly be? 3. Remember, one of the most important events in FF7 is Cloud's Lifestream 'awakening' sequence. Originally, it was done solely by Tifa. However, during the Gongaga event, Sephiroth ensured that Tifa's voice "would not reach Cloud anymore". What could happen is at the end of Cloud's Lifestream sequence, Tifa 'believes' she has rescued Cloud. But a last-minute twist happens where everything fails due to Sephiroth's intervention (and further amplified by Cloud's denial with Aerith's death). So, who could help Tifa then? 4. Enter Zack. Since he has basically been in the Lifestream all this time (see point no. 1), he could also enter Cloud's Lifestream (maybe with a little help from Aerith). What could happen is there will be an epic battle (maybe Cloud, Tifa & Zack) versus Jenova/Sephiroth inside Cloud's mind. This battle's epicness could exceed the one in Rebirth. 5. One should ask: after this, it seems narratively, Zack has already completed his 'arc'. That is, to save Cloud from himself and Sephiroth. Everything should come full circle, with the ending where Zack also 'disappears' (just like Aerith at the end of Rebirth after fighting Sephiroth). This should bring the plot and lore full circle with the OG and AC. Both Aerith & Zack will return to the Lifestream. Hope this make sense to you.

So… if Zack, Biggs, Wedge are all in the Lifestream, why do they keep dying if they are dead already? Where the heck is Jessie? Is she with her dad who she claimed he was stuck? What and where is the Promised Land Shinra wants to find? Is it the Lifestream itself?? Shinra already uses the Lifestream to harness electric power to the people… so??? Why would the Devs create black and white Whispers who change fate if we have the same exact outcome of OG? Why does Cid casually ask, “What did Aerith do?” at the end of Rebirth? What if Cloud died at the end of Crisis Core and this is his story in the Lifestream we’ve been playing all along?? Who the hell knows anymore.

Very interesting. Great video, and excellent catch with the soldier in the intro! What I can't get my head around is that we see a bullet which is definitely a split second away from hitting Zack directly in the head and killing him immediately... But in the original canon, he shouldn't have died there like that. He died later on, was never shot in the head, and had enough time to talk to Cloud for quite a while and even give him his buster sword. If it is just his desires playing out in the lifestream, and everything actually happened the same as the original canon, this makes no sense. The lifestream would have both conjured up a fake death (avoided because of whispers), which happened differently from his real death, AND erased all memory of the last 20 minutes or so of his life... If that is the way the lifestream works, then its extremely weird by anyones standards, and doesn't make a lot of sense. ESPECIALLY as it doesn't add up with Biggs's account, as he remembers the exact moment directly before his death. Why such different effects for those two? Also, if the lifestream plays out your desires, does that mean Zack's desire is to see Biggs gunned down? Doesn't add up. Or to randomly fight the massive crazy Bizzaro Sephiroth suddenly in a destroyed version of the church? And wouldn't Jessie and Wedge be knocking about too? I'm more of the opinion that the main Remake series timeline is a separate offshoot timeline/reality from the original game. Hence having both Sephiroth and Aerith with knowledge of things from the original game already ~ Their consciousnesses both travelled from the original timeline, as we've seen Zack, Biggs, and Cloud travel from other timelines in Rebirth. The bullet that should have killed Zack, the existence of any Stamp at all, the additional knowledge of Aerith and Sephiroth, and the various flashforwards you got throughout Remake all point to the fact that the Remake trilogy is a sequel in my opinion... Stamp is such a random name for a dog. I haven't ever seen anyone talk about this, but the fact that the dog is called STAMP could well be a clue ~ Maybe the dog in all its forms is the architect of all this's own STAMP on these realities. Like how an artist signs a painting.

I caught that bit about the unaccounted-for EX-SOLDIER with a buster sword working with Avalanche too and assumed as well that it was Cloud they were talking about, not Zack. I figured Cloud got away bc he was ahead of the truck Tifa was driving, so the "tornado" got them but not Cloud. I also don't think the Avalanche members are dead, just unconscious which then Red did literally wake up to crash the chopper he and Aerith had been placed in, and when Zack gets to Aerith, he sees she's unconscious, not dead. Why everyone kept saying they were dead in the trailer (and even now in this video) I never understood. Dead bodies get completely covered, they looked like injured and unconscious ppl being taken away. And there has to be a Cloud, bc how would Aerith have even met up with Tifa and Barret otherwise? And how would Biggs know badass Cloud? It seems when he and Zack talk, Zack just assumes Biggs met Cloud before they went to Nibelheim (they both admit they are a little fuzzy in the time department since being saved). I assume it's similar with Elmyra and Marlene knowing Cloud. Aerith too since how could Aerith "like" Cloud as Marlene tells Zack if she never met him? She'd have had to have met him before they were sent to Nibelheim for that to make sense from Zack's perspective, but we know that didn't happen. So it's clearly a Cloud that was with the gang on the highway. And as for what does that mean? Well, either the original Cloud disappeared and was replaced by comatose Cloud when Zack and Cloud arrived in this world (meaning Cloud didn't "get away" he just ceased to exist), or Cloud did get away and is on his own, but if that's the case, how long before he's just another empty husk in a robed shambling towards "the reunion?" Bc it's clear his friends (mostly Tifa and Aerith) are what kept bringing him back to himself when he starts wigging out in his mind. Always with a hand on the arm or shoulder and a "still with us?" or "you okay?" This Cloud won't have that, and as Cloud gets flashes of other events in other worlds, he's had flashes of himself in a rob whispering "reunion." That could be the unaccounted for Cloud. Just a thought. Also, is Zack's terrier world even still around? We aren't sure what world he battled Sephiroth in that had meteor upon it. Was that his terrier world? A world we'd never seen? Where'd he go at the end? I don't think it was back to terrier world (if that wasn't the meteor world) bc the flowers in the church are healthy, and the plant life in the terrier world was mostly dead and dying. Maybe Aerith sent him to the world that branched off when Cloud blocked Sephiroth's sword where Aerith survived (but if so, is she alone, or are there versions of Tifa and co there too bc what would account for their absence if not?) One thing is clear, they can go a lot of different ways with this and they left us a lot of time to theorize about it before part 3 comes out. 😭

Terrier was dying but suddendly some flowers started ti Bloom as if Aerith was comimg back. Maybe the Aerith there finally awaken, or was this Aerith killed in the Church just after giving Holy to Cloud? In any case, Most worlds seem copies of the Terrier world aka Zack timeline, will he be in one of those or has he been transported to one with Aerith living, created by Cloud blocking Sephiroths Masamune? If shes Alive, she cant be in the Church and Midgard but still going with the group to stop Sephiroth. I Hope SE wraps up all of this nicely in Remake 3.

No he is not dead, at least in the universe he showed up. If you actually played the rebirth, you already know why Zack is brought back and dev's intention is made load and clear with Marlene. This time, in the final game, Zack will be working with Tifa to retrive Cloud's true memory or ability. In which form? I don't know. But When that happens Could will be awake before Aerith did in slum 5 and this time he will truly save her from the infinite death loop she's been stuck with. There is basically no denial that she will be brought back to life in the final game and there is so many hints on it. Two theme songs, Hollow, NPTK, the Loveless show, fellas, memory flashing, transparent material, and most crucially the multi universe setting. The devs added all these new stuff into the trilogy for only one goal: to finally save Aerith this time.

But in my opinion they are just memories of the characters we see from remake and they were created by the lifestream and the whispers. Also , Zack’s Midgar can’t be a merge timeline because the worlds didn’t started merging until the end of the game . Sephiroth alludes to this when Aerith dies; and Zack also mentions that world might be able to merge again

Laerith (Lifestream omni Aerith) needed to transfer Biggs lifestream into Terrier world because Zack never met Marlene and she needed Zack to get that information she transferred to Marlene by touch. Biggs is the one who remembers Marlene for Zack to interact with.

@@NerdGeekTalk After SE finishes up FF7R and KH4, I hope they focus on FFX-3. However, I would be much more interested in learning about the original Bevelle and (especially) Zanarkand. Namely, how the Summoning came into practice. Learning more about the machina war, Yu Yevon's history and rise to power, how the use of Pyreflies was discovered, how the Al Bhed came to be. Yunalesca's ruse to control the world. More details about the Farplane. This could also be a good way for SE to give players what they want; the opportunity to play Braska's journey (effectively bringing back Auron). The Crusaders, locales that came and went (Remiem, for example), the Summoners who came before Yuna (a journey over a thousand years). FULLY PLAYABLE OG ZANARKAND

This theory is 100% correct but I wil just point out a few observations: - Aerith is only omni sensitive to lifestresm with a fully charged White Materia. - Both Aerith and Zack are dead but they will come back in part 3 for both red herrings, gameplay and resolutions. -The Cosmo Canyon NPC talking about "peeking through the looking glass" is alluding to Aerith's dying dream world now being contained inside the Clear Materia. This is why Cloud can see the sky rift in the main world when Clear Materia Aerith manifests herself at the ending. This is also the world she sent Zack into so you can tecnically say it has become a summon materia for Zack/Aerith. To be fair, there might not be that much distinction between Clear Aerith and Laerith (lifestream). They are functionally the same because Clear Aerith has a fully charged White Materia. However I point out this distinction because this Clearith is affected by the wind whereas both Laerith and Jenovarith would not affected as we can see during the airplane explosion right before the wind scene. That means both Claerith and Jenovarith are present on the ending and it is Jenovarith who promts Cloud to mention the sky rift in order to look crazier for his friends.

Totally agree I’m working on the Aerith and Sephiroth video and I’ve also notice Cloud saw the rift in Aerith’s dream and after he obtained the clear materia. Also I believe at the end of Remake Aerith was able to see the rift in the sky .( especially after the line change for the English dub where she says “ I don’t like the sky”) I gotta look into the Jenna Aerith theory cause I don’t have that much research on it.

So, my biggest issue with this Zack is dead and in the Lifestream (among other issues), is the white materia. There are clearly different worlds happening strung together by the LS. The reason I don't think they are just memories or hopes and dreams playing out etc. is bc if that was the case, how in the heck did Cloud bring anew white materia to Rebirth Aerith? It's all fake based on memories in this theory, and yet, Cloud comes back from one of these dying worlds with a pristine and functional white materia for our Aerith. How can that be accounted for? Nothing should be tangible and able to traverse then as any white materia in the LS would just be a memory of the babble. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, Sephiroth says to Aerith during her final date with Cloud that here she is, hidding in a world that's already accepted it's fate. Why is she hiding? Why is he even looking for her? What's he gonna do? Kill her again? To be fair he hasn't killed her yet during that scene, but if they are just randomly in a fake made up world in the LS, what's he need to even find her for? He's planning to kill her anyway, what difference does it make if she sits in a world close to dying and goes when the world does? She'll either die or get tossed back to her body then. I think that Aerith might be the OG one who really is already dead and in the LS personally. And what of Zack at the end? He accepted his fate having done all he could. So why'd he get tossed into yet another world (possibly our Beagle world even, or perhaps the one Cloud created with an Aerith that was saved when he blocked the Sword)? He should have just disolved into the LS and rejoined the planet. So what gives? It's almost like he traveled worlds like the living Cloud did with Aerith when they fell off the temple. And we already know there are several worlds with living Zacks (or at least ones that appear to have dodged a bullet at his last stand, pun absolutely intended lol) based on decisions he's making, what's that about if he's dead? I could see needing to live out different decisions before moving on, but these don't feel like that bc they all keep going it seems. Like, Aerith and Cloud clearly woke up in comatose versions of themselves, but NOT the ones we initially see with Zack bc we see they are not in terrier world. So why does this world even exist?? Who is this world for that it has comatose versions of Cloud and Aerith in it? Thst just doesn't make sense. Also, Midgar doesn't just appear at the end when Zack finishes off the soldiers at the end of Remake. It was always there in the background with tons of whispers swirling around the top of it showing something different was happening during his last stand. When team Cloud beats the whispers, it resonates through every possible world, and that is the big boom Zack feels and why it's all white for a second then Midgar appears. To everyone IN the city, it was a giant tornado, and we see the left over damage. In reality, it was our fight with the harbingers of fate or whatever. I don't know if Zack won't end up in the LS by the end of all this given how the devs said it'll link up with AC, but I don't think he's quite there yet. I think he and Biggs were moved to another place. Why Biggs, I don't know, especially since he just gets shot anyway even in the world were you go to help him 😞. We also don't know if the Zacks who went to help Biggs and find a cure for Cloud survived their run ins with the Shinra infantrymen that find him. Anyway, these are some of the reasons I don't think it can just be dead Zack in the LS not realizing he's dead already.

It’s weird to me because the entirety of Zack’s ending arc was to show us that no matter what he does, he dies, and in similar ways to CC. However, he finally finds a way to survive for awhile, and even help the party defeat Sephiroth. Once this happens, and he’s stuck in the meteor world, he finally accepts death, knowing he went out on his own terms and did all he could to help. At this moment, as all other worlds are being destroyed and are merging, I think Aerith saves Zack and brings him to the Remake timeline. I say this because the church we see him wake up at is identical to the one from Remake, and there is no stamp at all, which is purposeful if you look at the ultimania. This is what I think is going on with Zack. If you are a believer that FF7 Rebirth is just going with the Occam’s Razor approach, where the simplest deduction is often the correct deduction, then this is what is going on here haha.

Im glad you point this out. I thought zack and biggs were originally teleported. For example biggs knows soldier cloud while its impossible for him to appear in that timeline as zack is literallh carrying his body. So my best guess is that zack and biggs are from the main timeline. They just happened to be teleported. Idk this is confusing af

I think remake is not the same as og it was relived and they the last life meaning in the original was reset as if the player is god and sephiroth knows how u end the last one so he throws in events to change the future if he can make them not remember each other he would win so his plan changed from the original

This theory is unnecesary,and absurd. We know Aerith of CV, Aerith post Advent Children, is interfering with the others worlds. She had something to do in the wind (whispers included) that deflected the fatal bullet to Zack, she attracts Cloud Rebirth consciousness to one of the worlds to give him Holy, she sabes Zack from the black CV and sends him to the White one and guide him with the petals, then at the end when Meteor is about to crash im the other world, she creates a portal to save him. Too much work if hes dead. Let alone that Zack has phisical contact with Cloud. Doubt his desire would be going to a dying world with a comatose Aerith and meeting mother in law after 4 years lost ,and some Marlene,Kyrie or Biggs he didnt know about. The Game explains things enough, not need to create these theories....being Nomura imvoñved everything could happen yes, but It doesnt have sense. About Zack and Aerith hand moment, yeah she feels him talking her álter ego hand, but just the same as Cloud could see sometimes through his álter ego eyes and see comatose Aerith and even Zack, theres some interaction between those worlds, no need for him to be desde lol.

Biggs confirmed cloud was a badass merc that was with avalanche. All remake eventw happened in the timeline zack survived. So remake cloud survived.

What confuse me is everyone calling it a timeline which i dont believe its a timeline its just part of the lifestream which different version of people memories of the lifestream and Zack is part of it because he is a spirit energy of the lifestream same as Aeirth she now Spirit Energy but she different because of who she is and she have save the planet from meteor in part 3 comes out Im OG ff7 when it came out in 1997 im 45yrs old trust me your theory is what i been thinking this whole time.

The correct term is Worlds and it is still the best terk to use because the "peeking through the looking glass" refers to a dream world Aerith lest to Cloud inside the Clear Materia. So yes, technically it is all lifestream and with Sepiroth's merge there won't be other worlds anymore except for one dying world contained inside the Clear Materia.

It’s many worlds. There’s a world where there is no lifestream left. The game shows you that physical matter can travel between worlds (Biggs/ Gilgamesh/ the white materia). People say timelines because Sephiroth and some part of Aerith are from the future.

🤦🏽‍♂️ stupid theory. Zack isn’t dead. Aerith’s body has the ability to cross into other timelines inside the Lifestream. She accesses her body in THAT alternate timeline & is thus, able to touch Zack’s hand. Zack clearly transversed his Corgi timeline in the White space & ended up in Cloud’s timeline. Zack’s alive. It’s already been confirmed by the devs. Dumb & inaccurate theory.
