This documentary does not have as much publicity as it deserves. These three young men also do not have the same amount of acknowledgement and respect their story, heritage, and strength of character demand from the masses. Hubener's letter was heart wrenchingly poetic and beautiful. His last words to the judges was- and is- beyond definition. Haunting. Honest. Prophetic. I am just without any other words on this. So moving, so tragic, so beautiful, so inspiring. These men have earned their seats next to Our Heavenly Father.

Thank you so much for uploading this, it offers a fascinating look into the Hübener group. Helmuth didn't deserve to die the way he did, not at such a young age, but he made the Nazis scared, and fear is a powerful thing, obviously. Part of me thinks he (Helmuth) actually wanted to be caught. He wanted to stand face-to-face with the perpetrators (at the highest level, the Volksgericht) to let them know their days were numbered. I think the satisfaction he derived from telling that Nazi kangaroo court that they would all burn in hell was probably worth it to someone with such high emotional intelligence.

@ahashdahnagila6884 Жыл бұрын
Mormon Youth can never get more than a "sprinkle" of courage: they are taught that conformity is their valor. (And, if they keep reciting and believing that "10th Article of Faith", the outcome will be assured: conformity and uniformity.) P.S.: And, when Elder Ronald Poelman (of the 2nd Quorum of the Seventy) gave a most-interesting talk, at general conference nearly 40 years ago, the LDS Gestapo-- also known as The First Presidency & The Twelve (Apostles)-- ordered him to re-write his talk and return to The Tabernacle on Temple Square: so that the LDS Propaganda Machine could do a video re-make, replete with the dubbed sounds of people coughing and quietly shuffling around a bit, in the background. >>> By the time the Ensign (LDS official magazine) printed those conference talks the following month, everything about Poelman had been "sanitized and scrubbed clean"... ...for the sake of "uniformity and conformity" (which are the exact words, from the top of the Mormon hierarchy, for explaining why they did what they did). Courage? I think it takes more courage to "believe a lie, and fit in" than it does to speak the truth. >>> Hübener was NOT a "good Mormon": he didn't go around with the following thought in his mind-- "We believe in being subject to kings (and other rulers and dictators)...." Oh, and a 1937 photo (accompanying an article and printed at that same time, in the main Church-owned newspaper) shows German Mormon youths giving the stiff-armed, Hitler salute-- as they lined up, at the conclusion of a multinational basketball game. Conformity & uniformity at its finest! Häil, Schicklgruber...(and Heber J. Grant, for those who are old enough to remember).

The resistance movement both in Germany and all occupied regions illustrates the true bravery of those involved. Many died as a result and many died because of fellow participants who gave their interrogators damning information of their friends and peers. And, that is such a shame because very few people could withstand the torture and tactics of the Gestapo. I agree with max max comment here. Thank you for sharing this very important and heart-breaking and yet heart-inspiring part of history. We need men and women like Helmuth Hubener today. I think you might also like the story of the family told in A THOUSAND SHALL FALL: The Electrifying Story of a Soldier and His Family Who Dared to Practice Their Faith in Hitler's Germany by Susi Hasel Mundy.

I admire these special courageous people throughout history; especially because i know i could not match their courage. It is tragic for the human race that they do not survive for themselves, their families and the human race which would be advanced by these heroes if they had lived and allowed to contribute to it.

I cannot control my emotions about this. I am laying in bed at 4 am a lifelong insomniac in pain and sick. These last few years I've been obsessed with WW2 and saw his name and a brief summary in a book I read about resistance fighting so that led me to this... my first time learning of him and what they did....I have been struggling with my existing and depressive rhetoric and suicidal thoughts surrounding me the very second I let my mind go blank so much that learning of these types of things is dangerous. I can't stop crying. I feel like such a POS for even letting my tears flow about this brave man. How dare I let my petty spoiled and uselessness sully anywhere near the tale of what a true human ...a real man...a good soul, ...I know now that I am very very lucky that with this self pity I was born now. People think I'm some big badass and I rarely show who I really am unless I'm not working and in my home or with my only person ,my roommate and bff and (bodyguard, bouncer, vet, and lifelong martial artist and even fought in Bodig mma for a few years) I'm only saying that so one can understand perspective NOT to toot a horn or make it about me of anything of the sort. You must understand I am not at all cocky but will pretend to be in the presence of a social situation that the persona calls for. ..I have never ever ever been so humbled and in awe of such courage incarnate....Im not sure if I'm a full blown atheist or what as I question this when I witness things like this. Please don't be offended when I say..... If there is a god ...she/he will have to pray and beg for my forgiveness for letting this happen to what clearly is a angel.

Jus a lil advice bro you should drop your guard n let ppl see the real you, wot is the worst that can happen??? Trying to maintain a dual persona will only lead to depression!!! Trust me i know, anyways take it or leave it but if you truly are in this troubled state then i would suggest its worth a try n yeah this kid is as good as it gets God rest his soul....

I applaud the teenagers bravery, about the risks that they took in order to let the people know the truth. What they had to go through must have aged them beyond belief. I know that intellectually they knew the risks, but did it really sink in what would happen to them? There's a difference between the brain and the heart How could have anybody been prepared for the consequences?

It is so important that this and similar documentaries that focus on individuals are made as it renews the feeling of revulsion towards the evil of war and the unimaginable cruelty of the perpetrators which can become dulled over time by more generalised films. Thanks be to God for these boys and the sacrifices they made. Their stories keep alive and inspire the desire to resist evil regardless of the consequences to themselves May they rest in peace and rise in glory.

We watched the Resistance Movement in language arts and it's one of the saddest things I've ever seen. I shed a few tears because no one should ever have to go through something like that and even though myself or anyone I know never went through anything like that, I could feel their pain.

This is FANTASTIC. Everyone should watch it and ponder its application. There will always be a call for courage in this world. There is such a call now. Problem is, there are precious few who want to be bothered with the truth. The mainstream narrative is convenient and easy...just like junk food. If we aren't courageous enough to stand up for truth, what does that say about our integrity?

This is what shits me to the core! When the Americans accuse the German people for letting the holocauste happen, we fucken didn’t want it to happen, but this is what happened to thousands that tried to make a stand and the millions that didn’t dare to. Turn this around and just for one moment try to put yourself in this situation and you will look at the German people in a whole new different light. Fucken shits me to tears that me and my family had to live under this guilt trip all our lives, hearing all the people in America and allied countries look at the German people as some evil Nazi monster, can only thank the graciousness of the Australian people to make me more at ease with my guilt of being German. Am fully Aussie now, but still ppl know that most Germans were dragged into this reign of terror AGAINST their will. Sooo fun cranky about the guilt I’ve been carrying on my shoulders for so many years. Thanks for putting this on, as too long have we seen the victors story(and a very one sided one at that)
