I was out running 10 km the other day on the roads and `A Love Supreme' came on the ear buds and I was running in the heat of the day, sweat pouring off me and everthing that goes with running, and absolutely swept away with the emotion of this song. Very moving and very cool. Timeless music. Huge respect to Theo Coakley and T-Connection.

The great Mr.Kirkwood Coackley. One of the groviest funk bass players in my humble opinion.Great bass lines and taste in his playing.Don't understand why he is not taken into consideration more often.....think he deserves high recognition.

T-Connection had several monster hits that shook us up in Nigeria where I grew up in the 70s, starting with "Do What You Wanna do". '"AT Midnight", "Saturday Night", "Groove to Get Down", "Disco Magic", "Funkanection", "Funky lady", "Don't Stop the Music", "Saturday Night", "Danger Zone", etc. Terrifically talented group! Great to see Mr. Theo is still kicking and looking pretty well after all this time. Thanks to him and his players for all the great thrills they gave us on the dance floor!

I had a few T-Connection LPs growing up... loved the Magic and On Fire LPs and learnt a lot from them. Do What You Wanna Do was a helliva groove.... always liked the jazzy instrumentals like Cush, and Theo's piano and synth work was always a delight.

That's a cool T-shirt! Where did you get it, Scott? T-Connection is a group that doesn't get enough mention or credit! Kirkwood Coakley is a beast of a bassist!!! The song "Love Supreme" has a very nice EWF vibe! "Do What You Wanna Do" was very refreshing because it didn't have the typical boring bass line based on octaves and it was funky! The percussion set it off too!!! I agree with Theo's assessment of Stevie Wonder's depth and versatility as a songwriter that is unmatched. The first and only album that I bought was the third one and it's great! "Funkannection" is an amazing-sounding track with an amazing intro! I need to listen to the other albums! Ramsey Lewis, Oscar Peterson, and Larry Dunn are some phenomenal influences!

Scott you two were talking about the awesome Toni Smith(RIP) singing on Funkin For Jamaica. She was no joke. Great voice. She was on alot of stuff, R &B and house music too infact she sang backgrounds on a Mel'isa Morgan track called Believe In Yourself in 1999. She wasn't far from the old crew tho as she did stuff with Weldon Irvine and Don Blackman in the 2000's through the next decade.
