Inda's claim that they won the Kargil war is false. I am an Indian, and I followed that war from day one. The Indian army made a ghastly blunder. When the shells for the illegal Bofors gun was over, we sent our soldiers to climb the 16,000 feet high Kargil peak. Earlier the Bofors gun had destroyed more than 400 of the 500 Pakistani soldiers and only around 100 were left. Many of the Pakistani troops were sick or injured. Yet they managed to kill almost 1750 of our brave soldiers because the were climbing up the slope and could not handle their weapons while climbing, many of them did not have high-altitude clothes. Our bureaucrats were buying the kits from Switzerland during the war. There was also a great scandal about the purchase of coffins for our dead soldiers. The Indian army did not use a single mssile to hit the Pakistani troops on the peak. Because we had no missiles. No Agni and no Brahmos. Had they fired the mssles, then so many of our troops need not have died. It just shows how badly the Indian army is run. It is full of politics and back-biting. Please check other sources for the story of the Kargil War, you need not believe me. .
