They even turned me on to rap for the first time in my life. They love MJ and often pay tribute to him. I wish they had all been around at the same time. I’m a huge MJ fan, and Dynamite was the tipping point that got me into BTS because of the obvious homage to both his musical style and dancing! Several members of MJ’s family have actually thanked or recognized BTS for their tribute to him, and BTS even once presented Janet Jackson with an award! One video you may want to check out if you like MJ and BTS is two of the members (Jimin and Jungkook) doing a dance cover of Black Or White! BTS has made a lot of songs in many different genres. If you’re looking for more feel good, I’d go with ‘Permission to dance’. ‘Mic drop’ is a rap driven diss to haters, ‘On’ is a massive anthem with a strong message of carrying on. ‘Airplane pt.2’ has fun Latino vibes about travel. If you want something heavier, ‘fake love’ has a rock vibe and really sad lyrics (and a ridiculously impressive MV with NO CGI! You’re going to think some parts are but it’s all practical effects). Also in the sad (but more melancholy) category there is ‘Spring day’ about missing someone (and the MV alludes to the Sewol ferry tragedy where where 300 people died most of whom were high schoolers)

Tae is defo coming to wreck every armys bias and bias wreckers lists especially with that smile at the end, also my Jiminie i still cant get over him and that ‘finger bang’ he does he owns it, also the way he looks into the camera and stares into your soul and heart. Also ther dancing and vocals (especially the raplines as i wasnt expecting them to not rap at all) and attitude they give off is just perfect. Also for being their very first song fully in english just goes to show that they have improved alot (from what i have heard and read Korean is easier to learn than english). I am following you... all the way on your journey into BTS land. "Dynamite" was their first of 3 English speaking songs. It is light, fluff, pop song, easy choreography, fun, and playful. But it was at #1 on Billboard for a long time. The next 2 all English songs are "Butter" which has gotten huge recognition all lots of nominations and awards. Then "Permission to Dance". The President of South Korea picked BTS to be special representative envoys of the youth and culture of the country. They went over to the U.S. and spoke at the United Nations (second time). But this time they also performed "Permission to Dance" song inside and outside of the UN. First group in the whole world to do that. Watch the MV. Then watch the UN performance!!! What you have to first realize as a newbie to BTS, is they do not fall into any one genre. They are a 7 member group... 3 are the Rap line and 4 in the vocal line. Before BTS, I was a huge fan of Michael Jackson. I always play his songs whenever I had road trips and I never liked any other artist like how I liked MJ.
