After playing that part back at .25x speed, I don't believe it's actually a person. That beige part that shows up is actually the wooden floor behind michael that becomes visible when he moves his right leg, and you can see as he moves his left leg forward, the gap closes in complete synchronization meaning Michael probably opened up his side to weigh it down at some point.

I believe it's a version of "The Light Heavy Box" that Penn & Teller did. Pretty old magic trick these days too so someone as talented as Michael could easily pull this off stealthily. The box being moved is just that. They moved it presumably to get a better shot with the victim or something and could have easily explained to the guy that he wanted it a little closer to where he wants to open it, whatever. Then that bit of footage was lost on the cutting room floor. No tomfoolery, no actors, just as you said, good magic.

@@stephenkamenar That doesn't prove it's fake. Those scenes are actually much longer in full and they make a lot of cuts in editing to shorten them down. Why has the box so blatantly moved? Maybe because during the deleted scenes the black guy wanted to lift it again and we never saw it? People who say the show is fake are just too dumb to catch how the actual trick is done. I figured out this heavy box trick and it doesn't need a fake actor, just some distraction and an assistant or two :)
