If I was dominating the GC Scene, I wouldn't switch to a higher competition with the current landscape of valorant. GC Players earn more money than most tier 2-3 teams because they are televised and incentivised to play unlike Tier 2 where you grind and hoping to get picked up by a tier 1 team or ascend into the regional leagues. "What about being the best at the game?" Nah bro. Esports career are very short and look how volatile the scene is. Examples are Yay, Acend (the EU team), NRG etc. You don't know when your time is up. I'll rather get that paycheck and secure myself in the long run rather than chase a championship and not reach it with a short career spans.

Tbh if that's Flors mindset then they'd never make it in Tier1. To even be decent in Tier1 of any game you have to have talent and an ungodly amount of passion and dedication to improving yourself. The people that lose that passion usually fall off or just collect paychecks on lower end teams, riding their past achievements. That's the reason most players retire. You don't lose much reaction time from age, you just get burnt out from grinding to be the best for years on end. If Flor doesn't have that passion to try and be THE BEST then ofc they'd just ride out the easy money and then go do something else when it's dried up. Point being, if Flor doesn't try and jump into Tier1 soon then it's over before it ever began and people should realize that.

I think something that surprised me was playing against Flyquest Red, Teddy Tactics, SaD Frost, Event horizon etc on a more puggy imm/radiant roster myself and WINNING was really eye opening. There certainly is a different skill level on SR than basically any GC team right now. I am confident on my best day I would be lucky to take a map off of SR but am very confident on an average day a team at my skill level could easy 2/3-0 flyquest for example. For a no name player to create a rando team and still compete at the skill level as some of the best in the league baffles me. This isn't to say that "GC is bad" wah wah wah garbage but that the environment in GC is just bad overall right now. There are a ton of popup teams that are diamond-ascendant that never really improve and don't intend to which causes almost what feels like a bottleneck in the mid level of GC. newer players need to play with experienced higher level players to get experience and learn but the best teams don't/won't be trialing new players or leaking strats for example where as in the VCT/VCL leagues coaches and players are constantly getting moved around up and down.

Not just bad environment. The ASPAS of Women is studying in harvard instead of playing valorant. It is like messi is playing basketball as a child instead of Football. He could be a good basketball player but his potential is greatest in Football. More pool of players = More chances of Skilled players to show up. but a lot women don't want to play Tac FPS because of culture. The GC scene is a first step. like Riot provide better environment/infrastructure to Asian teams unlike CSGO. No skilled players will show up if the environment/infrastructure is bad.

CS was a game where seeing a woman play was very rare because the community is so toxic. If valorant continue improving the overall culture of their game and give proper infrastructure to GC, they will eventually catch up because GC players will have that same amount of tac fps play time that all of the current T1 pros have. I do believe that it will take at least 2-3 years for that to happen though.

Im from kyrgyzstan. We have good internet, stockholm 60-70 ping and frankfurt 70-90 ping with ethernet. I played with kazakh players, most of them have very bad internet. Its kinda sad cuz i play in regional tourneys and do pretty well but when it comes to premier, its absolutely crazy that if I want to keep good ping, i have to select a server where I have to play at midnight.

I 100% agree with n4rrate about flor. She is super mechanically talented. I’d love to see her get a chance. Would be interested to see how she would do. But I know all pro players are under a ton of scrutiny and pressure for their performance. And if flor was the first female to compete in Vct and didn’t instantly perform to the same level she did in GC I think it would be safe to say the weirdos in the community would make a big deal out of it and blow it out of proportion. So I think that’s another factor she would need to consider. She’s super talented and wish the best for her.

I think the main problem isnt gender but it is gender. most GC pro players are like ascendants-immortal (excluding the top teams like SR, G2, etc). They need to recruit more immortals and radiants but I guess its just rarer since the male player population is higher

SR are just that threshold org. Too good for game changers dominating regionals and probably looking to dominate their champs, but too weak to compete in Tier 2 as they get bodied by Tier 3 teams (pick-up teams and university teams). Florescent is good mechanically, but 1 player doesn't have such a sway to win games. Mel is a good IGL in game changers whilst Noia and Sarah have got strong mechanics for their competition. However despite this, they just don't have what it takes to crack into Tier 2. Maybe it's their mental or adaptability. A lot of teams have midround callers alongside IGLs now in Tier 1 and 2. Florescent can try to do a Bob move and play for a lower Tier 2 team, but even then the Tier 2 space has a lot of talent who can play with a team. Florescent looks like she's playing ranked in her GC matches. She rarely gets punished for her aggressive peeks. On top of that, I feel like she's more socially awkward so she won't join a coed org, but this is more speculative based on her vibe in interviews and that she's rarely, if ever, in the content that they make. Players can live their lives, but I get the sense that she's comfy where she isn't pushed into challenging situations often. She still has a good few years of her career to play so we'll see what happens. Overall, game changers is a difficult scene to maintain especially for a better production. They don't do any LANs for regionals and many of the teams in NA only stick around for 2 stages before dropping off. There is little incentive for orgs to have a game changers team that will stick for even a year. And that leads to the orgless teams being less competitive and less challenging to SR and even FlyQuest. Some of these game-changer players aren't even hitting Radiant in ranked. Some of them are max immortal which feels like a huge disparity in quality. EMEA is a bit better having 8 proper orgs for the teams whilst NA leaves it open to whoever and I'm not too sure how their names and identities are vetted. A lot of the NA GC players on vlr have random names and nationalities that feel like they're hiding who they are. And because they don't play for proper orgs or get far in qualifying for champs, they get no repercussion. I get that GC is somewhat of a safe space for women and marginalised genders to compete, but it doesn't feel that fair when anyone can compete under any name and fake images (noot noot incident) with some level of hacks on top.
