This was so fun, I always love these types of videos! Very creative solution with doing the timer instead of chapter lengths, haha. You got some weird books here, love it 😉 I loved the quotes from the beginning of The Mare, I definitely need to add this to my TBR and can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! What a good dilemma to have, so many books that gripped you/sound fun to read 😍 Oh and also had to mention that I watched this with my 18 month old daughter while eating dinner and every time you mentioned “White Cat Black Dog”, she said meow 😂

@@LibrariesandLattes Thank you! 😊 Haha I love that she said meow! That’s so cute haha! It was a great dilemma to have, and I’m still drawn to all four so I don’t know how well I solved it 😂 but I did start on The Mare and read about 100 pages yesterday, which doesn’t happen often, I just flew through it. It’s getting darker though but the beginning was surprisingly easy to read and very intriguing still. Hoping to read more this weekend.

@ she loves our cats (they still don’t love her sadly) and says meow every time she sees them or a cat in general so I’m not surprised she said it during your video 😂 Well at least it helped you prioritize the first book but now you know you have such a good lineup waiting for you! Glad to hear that you’re flying through The Mare and enjoying it. Can’t wait to hear your final thoughts!!

@@LibrariesandLattes Oh no! 😅 I hope they learn to love her as she gets older. Very cute either way ^^

Funny how all the books (except Lanny which grabbed you the least) have a fairly similar dominant color on the cover (pink-ish). I don't know why but that really grabbed my attention.
@ellenmadebookclub11 күн бұрын
Haha yes they go very well together! 😊 If I like them I’ll be on the lookout for more pink books 😉

This is such a good idea to try. I think I would pick The Mare too. I think I’m going to try this idea on my channel :)

@@TheLibraryMouseGina Honestly it was so much fun, I already want to do it more times 😊 I’ve continued with The Mare, so far so good. Can’t wait to see what books you will try! Thanks for watching!

This is such a fun way to pick a new book! Oh I don't know if I could read any books with 114 page chapters though 😅
@ellenmadebookclub10 күн бұрын
@@RicksReads Haha I know, I guess they’re part one and two, and then it switches perspectives a lot, but it was not a very good book for this particular concept 😆

I think you found a great solution! 😂 Lanny still is pretty intriguing to me haha but I might wait for you to finish it before buying. I love your facial expressions while reading Crooked Plow- so glad you liked it! I've been curious about it and it sounds pretty insane 😅 Hope you enjoy The Mare!!

@@adarkcornerofthelibrary Thank you! 😁 Yes it’s intriguing to me too! The monster seems kind of nice but I’m guessing he’s not haha I’m curious about it still. I’ll make sure to get to it this month at least! And both Crooked Plow and The Mare seem good too, I’m about a third into The Mare now, flew through 100 pages yesterday, oddly enough very easy to read. I fear it might get darker soon though. But very good.

I laughed out loud at how different the chapters are between The Mare and Lanny. 114???? I would not assume that's 1 chapter. I'd be so mad because I'm the kind of person that says, "I'll stop reading... until the end of this chapter" 💀 LMAO, your reaction to Crooked Plow in the beginning. I'm SO INTRIGUED. I would've 100% picked up that book because... why would you put it to your mouth 😭 Between all the books, I'm on a similar vibe as you. The Mare & Crooked Plow would've been my top picks! But I think I would've went with Crooked Plow because I just want to know where the story would go from there!
@ellenmadebookclub10 күн бұрын
@@itsmimiduong Haha I know, that’s ridiculous! I guess it’s part one and two but there are no chapters in between, just short sections shifting perspectives. But it was a pretty quick read so maybe I’ll fly through to 114 next time I pick it up 😊 Haha Crooked plow was such an insane start! I haven’t read any more yet but I’m so intrigued too, like whyyyyyy????? I felt so bad for them and also stopppp ittt what are you doing??? 😂 I picked up The Mare yesterday and flew through 100 pages so I’m very eager to continue that this weekend! Had to do other things today but I’m thinking about it and wanting to pick it up. So far so good!

I dieddd at lanny having 114 page chapters that’s wild 😂 but the formatting of it seemed really intriguing! I definitely agree that the mare seemed like the most captivating read of these books, I can’t wait to hear what you think of it

@@daniella-raye Haha I know what even is that? I guess it’s part one and two, but still. No chapters in between. I love seeing everyone’s reactions to which they would have picked! I flew through 100 pages of the Mare yesterday, which doesn’t happen often, so far so good!

I'm quite interested in The Mare, but it doesn't look like my library has it. I wonder if it is available in the US? Hmmm, I may have to go looking for it at Blackwells!

I've finished it now, surprisingly quickly, and I thought it was really good! It wasn't as heavy as I had feared. There are horrible things in it, obviously, and it's not a light read by any means, but it's more focused on the perpetrator than the victims, if that makes sense. Which is what I hoped. Definitely recommend, if you can get your hands on it!
