Is there any difference in the pencils that come from Germany directly and the ones sold in US?

Could you imagine what it would be like to layer the entire visible color spectrum, and after completion of the final hue, have your paper turn white???
@ranjanah13564 ай бұрын
Hey! Pigments do not work in this way. If one were to mix all pigments, we would get black. However, if we are mixing different wavelengths of light, we would get white! cool, isnt it.
@Gaian_Born4 ай бұрын
@@ranjanah1356 That was my whole point--just imagine how you'd freak out if they behaved as pure wavelength when applied to paper!!

great! but why so expensive?
@vwood27 ай бұрын
Higher quality costs more, but the pencils last much longer. FC uses lightfast pigments, good wood that doesn’t split, fully bond the leads to eliminate breaking issues, and properly finish the end caps, which protect the pencil. Hold a Polychromos in one hand and a cheaper pencil in the other, and you can feel a big the difference in weight.

You're not suitable for factory mass production. Go buy professional hand made instead of factory production items. We've worked out that you're suited to hand made, so you go there and find out what is cheap and what isn't cheap.

Wrong. Pencils are built according to measurement. Your pencil has a lead diameter and a lead radius. The tip develops facets. The facets must not get smaller than a certain number and the facets must not go beyond the radius of the lead. If there's no wax then there's no preservation of the ingredients. Someone will have to keep drawing over the original drawing just to preserve the contents.

Can you get a more vibrant result like Prismacolor? Art done with Polychromos just end up looking like crayon drawings... Edit: They hid my reply below. Here it is: Thanks for the replies Jonathan-ke8yr & UTleochi. I haven't used either Polychromos or Prismacolor. I am deciding on what to buy and I am looking at different artists on youtube. Polychromos is easier to get where I live but when I see stuff made by Prismacolor-users like drawholic (also on youtube) it seems that it ranges from almost no layering to just a little bit to get good results vs artists like Lachri Fine Art using Polychromos, were there is a lot of layering involved before things start to cover the paper properly and yet colors still seem to look washed out in comparison... I might be missing something else here though. Just to clarify, I am not bashing any artist. They're all great. I am just looking for a medium where you can get more saturated and vibrant colors.
@Jonathan-ke8yr8 ай бұрын
That simply isn't true, you can get amazing results with polychromos. They're more difficult to use than prismacolors, but I'd say the results are worth it if you're working in many layers
@UTleochi8 ай бұрын
Of course you can, but there’s a learning curve and you need more patience to build up layers. You can compare them to watercolours versus gouache. Prismacolors are more opaque and therefore can be applied more quickly. Both are good pencils, but the Polychromos definitely are better quality and have much better lightfastness. (Btw. Are you sure you have used Polychromos from Faber Castell, and not their Classics, because the Classics definitely are kid’s crayons) Look up Lachri Fine Art, she works with Polychromos and her stunning works definitely don’t look like crayon drawings.😊

Men are world famous liars. Vibrant in what way...? Vibrant on the outside of the pencil? Vibrant on the inside? I'm not wasting any more time on this clown of a question asker. How about people learn about brand philosophy. How about people make up their own philosophy and learn how to describe it to other people. The outside of the pencil ✏️ looks Vibrant. But they describe it as being just a pencil ✏️. That's a boring description. They're going to be Vibrant pencils ✏️ which can be boring and worthless. You're better off switching to airbrush paints or spray cans.
