Depending on the age of the patient , For small Submucosal Fibroids, Hysteroscopy removal of fibroid can be done however for larger ones Hysterectomy is adviced. Mirena insertion will only help once the Myoma has been removed. With Myoma still insitu, Mirena will not have desired effect and pt will still have bleeding 🩸

Mirena is a progesterone hormone releasing Intra uterine device which releases hormone only locally and doesn’t have generalised effect on other organs. Thus it is more beneficial then oral hormone medications as it doesn’t have general side effects . It doesn’t cause weight gain, mood swings, water retention

in case of Heavy bleeding and increased thickness known as Endometrial hyperplasia- one should under go Hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy which means sending the thickened lining for testing in a lab. IF the report is normal, Mirena can be inserted.
